1. The office opens daily at 6:00 a.m. Maintenance does a TM Daily

7. Bus drivers and monitors will be responsible for cleaning all Bus Drivers, May

10. If a driver is on medication/s it is the responsibility of the Bus driver As needed
driver to get a statement from their doctor that tells the kind
of medication it is and how much. The doctor must write out
whether or not the medication will impair the driver’s driving
abilities.
11. It is the responsibility of the bus driver or bus monitor to Bus driver On going
maintain discipline on the vehicle. No Head Start parent or Monitor
community volunteer is allowed to discipline the Head Start
children.
12. All toys and backpacks must be secured by the bus monitor Bus Monitor On going
in a location out of the driver’s area, but so as to ensure that
the aisle and all doorways are not obstructed at any time.
13. If a bus is to be used for a field trip within the three county Teacher, LSM, TM Two weeks prior to
area, a Field Trip request form will have to be completed field trip
and sent to their LSM and forwarded to the Transportation
Manager at least two weeks in advance of the field trip.

15. When public schools in the area are closed due to severe TM, Bus Drivers, As needed

procedures for inclement weather
16. Head Start does not delay school due to fog, rain, etc. If a DCS, TM As needed
driver feels that the conditions might warrant a delay, this
must be approved by the Director of Children’s Services or
Transportation Manager.
17. Bus drivers are to wait no more than two minutes at each Bus Driver As needed
child’s home when picking up children. It is the
responsibility of the bus driver to remind parents/caregivers
the importance of having the children ready.
18. If a child is absent more than three consecutive times Bus Driver As needed
without having an excused absence, then it is the TM, FA
responsibility of the bus driver to contact the Transportation
Manager immediately to discuss the problem. The FA,
AT/FA for the family will be contacted with the information.
He/She will make the decision if the child is to be picked up
or not.
19. Teacher will give Absence Notification form to driver when a Teacher As needed
child is picked up by parent due to illness.

20. Allowances will be made for toys on Show and Tell day or if Bus Monitor Daily
the child is dually enrolled in another preschool.
