Source-Omega Algae Oil Supplier Earns BBB Accreditation
Chapel Hill, NC, June 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- This week, Source-Omega announced its recent
accreditation by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving Eastern North Carolina. As the first algae oil
company with BBB Accreditation and as a BBB Accredited Business, Source-Omega is dedicated to
promoting trust in the marketplace.
“We are proud to have met BBB's high standards and we are excited to be part of an organization that
exists so consumers and businesses alike have an unbiased source to guide them on matters of trust,” said
Dr Scott Doughman, Owner of Source-Omega, LLC. “We value building trust with our customers and
our BBB Accreditation gives our customers confidence in our commitment to maintaining high ethical
standards of conduct.”
BBB Accredited Businesses must adhere to BBB's “Standards for Trust,” a comprehensive set of policies,
procedures and best practices representing trustworthiness in the marketplace. The standards call for
building trust, embodying integrity, advertising honestly, telling the truth, being transparent, honoring
promises, being responsive and safeguarding privacy.
When dealing with a BBB Accredited Business the consumer has peace of mind knowing that they are
dealing with an honest organization that is accountable to its clients.
Source-Omega, LLC, Chapel Hill North Carolina, USA, located near the Research Triangle Park, was
founded in 2007 and launched the company's flagship brand Pure One® as the first DHA+EPA algae oil
in the USA.
Source-Omega's brand was launched 3 years before all other US-made algae oil DHA/EPA products and
claims its publications and product influenced former Martek DHA/EPA improvements acquired and
launched by DSM.
Source-Omega was also the first to state that algae omega-3s were suitable replacements for medical fish
oils in early 2009. The same year the company gave guidance that North Carolina's infant brain health
was at risk due to apparent dietary omega-3 deficiencies in the state. Also in 2009 Pure One® began
marketing prenatal omega-3 uses to pregnant mothers.
Then in 2010 Source-Omega filed for U.S. patent protections for their algae oil “metabolic ratio” of
DHA+EPA and uses for diabetics in need of postprandial plasma lipid support. Similarly in 2010,
Source-Omega reviewed DHA retro-conversion metabolic dosing using algae oil omega-3s as an
effective fish oil substitute.
In 2011, Pure One® affirmed its appeal as pan-cultural omega-3 oil, as Kosher-Vegan and Halal
compliant and as complementary medicine safe for diabetics. The company next published a 2011
peer-reviewed article as the first to discuss the use of algae DHA+EPA as a diabetic medical food and
pointed to the emerging type-2 diabetes health epidemic in India, China and the USA, respectively.
In addition to these breakthroughs, Source-Omega has maintained focus and specialized in branding,
educational marketing and globalization of algae oil omega-3 products for the benefit of all people all
around the world and is now the exclusive supplier of SOURCE OIL™; designated as algae oil,
SOURCE OIL™ is National Organic Program compliant, containing only algae oil and green tea
antioxidants as ingredients used in the formulation. It's a pure fraction of 99 percent DHA-triglycerides
harvested with fewer steps using only a water extraction process for improved safety and performance,
offering consumers superior quality at a lower price. For more information visit www.source-omega.com.
