Bank, Canara Bank, Corporation Bank, Vijaya Bank, State Bank of India, State Bank
of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore and Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank] and
B.V.V. Sangha, Bagalkot. He further said that Karnataka Bank and Krishna
Grameena Bank have expressed their desire to join KFRc by contributing fund to the
corpus to the extent of Rs. 50.00 lakh and Rs. 5.00 lakh respectively. Many Banks /

KFRC shortly, he said.

Dr. S. B. Dandin, Vice-Chancellor, University of Horticultural Sciences,
Bagalkot, speaking on the occasion welcomed the Agricultural Budget of Karnataka
State. The proposed KFRC shall strive for development of resources of poor farmers
for generation of increased income. Agriculture shall become a preferred profession
for youth, he said.

Sri. Veeranna Charanthimath, Hon’ble MLA and Chairman, B.V.V. Sangha in his
presidential address informed that farmers’ attention towards agriculture is gradually
declining, agriculture development has not yet become a priority in many ways in the
country inspite of implementation of various schemes. KFRC being jointly set up by
sate Govt, NABARD, Banks and B.V.V. Sangha should become a model institute in
the state and country for the welfare of farming community.

His Holiness Sri. Sri. Sri. Ravishankar Guruji, Art Of Living, Bangalore,
inaugurated the centre by lighting the lamp and unveiled the foundation stone. He
expressed his happiness over the efforts made by the financial institutions along with
state Govt. to set up a state level institute for the welfare of farmers by imparting
technical training and creating awareness about financial matters. He compared this
effort to the mythological story of Sridevi-Bhoodevi joining hands together for
elimination of “ Daridra Narayana” i.e., poverty. People living in villages specially
depending on agriculture are facing constraints and need support from all of us. The
KFRC shall keep all these issues in mind while designing and delivering the training
and other services to the farming community, he said. The Education to agriculturists
and to their children is a matter of priority, he reiterated. Further, he exhorted the
public in general and farmers in particular to make best use of the facilities of KFRC.
