         Auction Procedures
Bidding
Bid numbers, which will be provided again at registration, are to be used on the
bid sheets during the Silent Auction. We have pre-assigned a bid number for
each Freedom Hill family. Each auction booklet sent home in the Tuesday folder
has a label with your bid number noted. Please remember to bring your auction
book the night of the auction. Extra copies will be provided, but we’re sure you’ll
want to make notes of items you’re interested in on this copy.

Silent Auction
1. Each item will have next to it a bid sheet describing the item offered and
the terms of purchase. Each item will also have a minimum bid amount.
You may not bid below this amount. In addition, each item will have a
bidding increment. This means that your bid must be at least that much
more than the current bid (e.g., if the current bid is $100 and the bidding
increment is $10, you must bid at least $110). Please print your bid
amount, bid number, and last name on these bid sheets. Please bid in
     whole dollar amounts.

2. No one under the age of 18 may place a bid on the auction sheets.

3. You do not need to be present to win.

4. Items may be paid for by cash or check.

5. Payment is due at the auction’s conclusion. Upon payment, purchasers
are to pick up certificates or merchandise from the check-out area.
However, if the winner is no longer present at the auction, the winner will
be notified that they have won as soon as possible. Payment and pick up
of merchandise will be expected to be made in a timely fashion.

Live Auction
There will be a live auction from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for items that have been
selected by the Auction Committee. Absentee bids (see below) can be submitted
for the live auction.

Absentee Bidding Procedure
If you are unable to attend the silent auction, you can still participate. Absentee
bid sheets are available at www.freedomhillpta.org. You can designate your
maximum bid on any item. An auction volunteer will monitor the items you are
interested in and place bids on your behalf accordingly. The volunteer will only
bid incrementally to outbid a previous bidder and will only bid up to your
maximum stated bid amount. Should you win an item, we will notify you over the
weekend. You will be responsible for picking up and paying for the item in a
timely fashion.

Raffle Items
1. Raffle tickets will be sold in advance (go to www.freedomhillpta.org for an
advance ticket order form) and at the door. Tickets will be $1 each or 6 for
     $5.

2. Raffle tickets purchased in advance can be sent back to school to be
placed in the appropriate raffle bins or can be brought with you the night of
the event. Please print your name and phone number legibly on the back
of the raffle ticket. Feel free to use preprinted stickers like address labels.

3. You do NOT need to be present to win.

Unless otherwise stated, all auction items must be redeemed within one year of
the date of the auction. Staff auction items must be redeemed before the end of
the school year except where stated. Unless specified, dates and times are to be
arranged at the mutual convenience of donor and buyer. Please call the
appropriate Freedom Hill family within two weeks to let them know you have won
their item. All sales are final.

Donors and purchasers are responsible for the propriety of any tax deduction
they may take relating to their donation or purchase.

101 Week at the Lake in Deep Creek, Maryland

You can’t help but relax and enjoy yourself at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. In fact 2006’s winners
enjoyed it so much they bought their own place at Deep Creek. The Gurdak lake house is open from
April - October and is located directly on the lake with its own dock. Bring your own boat or jet ski or
rent one up there. The house isn’t fancy (“rustic” is probably more appropriate) but it is on a quiet
part of the lake and it can accommodate a large number of people. It has three bedrooms and a
huge loft and can comfortably sleep 13. House is equipped with washer, dryer, DVD/video player.
Specific dates to be arranged with the owner. Subject to availability. Expires 10/31/2011.
Approximate Value: $1,500. Starting Bid: $400 ($50 increments).

102 Weekend at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland

Get away for two nights including weekends in our vacation home in McHenry, MD (home of Wisp Ski
Resort and Deep Creek Lake) from 24 March – 9 June and 14 August - 14 December 2011 (not
including Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends). House has four bedrooms, three and a half
baths, and sleeps ten. It has a pool table, air hockey, foosball table, two fireplaces, and a hot tub.
Check it out: http://www.deepcreekresort.com/bre/properties/Mountain-Top-Lodge/. Subject to
availability. Expires 12/14/2011. Approximate Value: $700. Starting Bid: $250 ($50 increments).

includes a comfortable cockpit, 2 staterooms, small dining area, galley and the all-important head.
Small snacks and drinks while on board. Return to marina for a splash in the pool, smoothies for the
kids and drinks for the adults followed by dinner on us at one of the nearby (casual) restaurants.

an NFL head coach are the second-most among active coaches, trailing only Bill Belichick’s 148. In
16 seasons as a head coach with the Denver Broncos (1995-2008) and the Los Angeles Raiders
(1988-89), Shanahan has a regular season winning percentage of .598 (146-98) and an overall
