GODWIN, M.H. "Bud" - McMinnville resident and Maury County, TN native M.H. "Bud" Godwin, age 82, was born October 24, 1924 and died March 5, 2007 at his residence. A radio announcer at WBMC, a United States Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the First United Methodist Church, he was the son of the late James Hensley and Dorcas Lucille Walters Godwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jacob Godwin and Mike Daily; great-grandson, Tyler Doughtie and five sisters. He was married September 15, 1944 to Reba Jean Fitzgerald of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children and their spouses, Dennis Godwin of McMinnville, Cherry and Joe Falkenberry of Cypress, CA, Nick Godwin of Nashville, TN, David and Glenna Godwin of McMinnville, Dan and Lisa Godwin of Navarre, FL, Joey and Rona Godwin of Christiana, TN, Jack Godwin of McMinnville and Christopher and Melissa Godwin of McMinnville; grandchildren and their spouses, Marcy and Brad Bolding, Jeremy Godwin, JasonWelle, Cherodi Allen, Daniel Falkenberry, Heather and Pat Doughtie, Sarah Godwin, Davey Godwin, Aaron Godwin, Chelsea Godwin, Peyton Godwin, Andrew Godwin, Christa Godwin, Cameron Furbee, Katie Furbee, Cole Godwin and Desiree Falkenberry; great-grandchildren, T.J. and Torrye Rigsby, Kristopher and Nathan Allen, Vanessa and Ivy Welle, Savannah Godwin, Brendon Doughtie, Jailyn Bolding and Ethan Daily. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 in High's Chapel with Rex Boles and Dr. Steve Angus officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors to be administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus House Hospice or the charity of your choice.
