Unresolved childhood or adolescence loss is linked with adult depression, violence, truancy, substance abuse, anxiety and suicidal tendencies. Homicide is one of the major causes of death of young adults between ages 1621
There’s a Solution! St. James Open Arms: A Grieving Teens’s Program Open Arms will be conducting a 10-session grief program here at ABC during the school day. The purpose of the Open Arms School Outreach Program is: To educate students about grief issues in a creative manner To provide students a supportive environment to talk about their grief To allow students to interact with peers with similar grief experiences To provide conflict resolution methods to cope with trauma and loss If your child has experienced a loss of a family member or a close friend this program will be helpful.
