Did you know?  Six out of ten children experience a loss while they are school age.  One out of seven children or teens has a parent die before his/her 18th birthday.  Unresolved childhood or adolescence loss is linked with adult depression, violence, truancy, substance abuse, anxiety and suicidal tendencies.  Homicide is one of the major causes of death of young adults between ages 1621

There’s a Solution! St. James Open Arms: A Grieving Teens’s Program Open Arms will be conducting a 10-session grief program here at ABC during the school day. The purpose of the Open Arms School Outreach Program is:  To educate students about grief issues in a creative manner  To provide students a supportive environment to talk about their grief  To allow students to interact with peers with similar grief experiences  To provide conflict resolution methods to cope with trauma and loss If your child has experienced a loss of a family member or a close friend this program will be helpful.
