Our rationale in getting the ISO14001 certificate is manifold.   It has been a world trend for

many years in Europe, America and Japan. Our Japan headquarter sent corporate directive

for TDK global network and its related manufacturing sites to be certificated.   In TDK, we

are trying to ensure green products by means of Green Purchase to ensure product safety and

environmental regulatory compliance throughout the supply chain, which is now part of our

TDK HK EMS programs.



As for the benefits of ISO14001 certification, we initiated our ISO14001 certification project

at the time of SARS outbreak, marked improvement can be identified in terms of emergency

preparedness.   Furthermore, reduce-reuse-recylce strategies in terms of resources and waste

management have been our pursuits ever since. President Hirano believes that our HK

office should be the ISO14001 pioneer in TDK's South China network to set a good example,

educate our staff, suppliers and stakeholders of our efforts in environmental management

system.   By our endeavours, he hopes that TDK HK can play a part in keeping HK and our

world a greener environment for our future generations.
