OFFICER TRANSITION: Commandant Weisgerber introduced the new Elected Officer Corps,
Commandant: Kevin Kimma, S. V. Commandant: Lore Wiseman, J. V. Commandant: Skip Adams,
Judge Advocate: Dick La Tondre, Jr. Past Commandant: Denny Weisgerber
New Commandant Kimma finished introducing his appointed Officers who are, Adjutant: Mike Marte,
Paymaster: Jim Byrne, Sgt. At Arms: Camilo De La Cueva, Chaplain: Toni Marte, Quartermaster:
Commandant Kimma also created two new offices, they are: Grants, Donations, & Funding: Brian
Bonafede, PR/Community Relations: Dave Williams
Commandant Kimma also appointed the following Project Staff, they are: Internal Events &Socials:
Toni Marte, Building Fund Manager: Brian Bonafede, Historian: Dave Williams, Webmaster: Kevin
Kimma, and two other offices that have not been filled yet, Newsletter Editor, and Detachment
Commandant Kimma recognized the great work that Past Commandant Weisgerber did, and
presented a plaque and a small statue of “Tun Tavern”.
Past Commandant Weisgerber than presented a Gavel and Wood Block to Commandant Kimma. The
“gavel” is filled with 101 proof Ezra Brooks Bourbon. Kimma will make sure he doesn’t bang the
gavel too hard.
Commandant Kimma than presented Certificates of Recognition to the following members, thanking
them for their outstanding contributions and work to the Detachment:

D. Weisgerber, M. Glazzy, D. Williams, T. Curtin, B. Bonafede.
Commandant Kimma then presented the “Detachment Marine of the Year” medal to (a very
surprised and grateful) Adjutant Mike Marte.

CORRESPONDENCE: None at this time
REPORT OF PAYMASTER: Paymaster Byrne reports Total funds, $11,510.57, broken down as
follows: $9,281.57 in checking account, $2,229.00 in the CD.
Weisgerber to turn over $1,000.00 from proceeds from the MC Ball.
REPORT OF SICKNESS OR DISTRESS: None at this time.
REPORT OF OFFICERS: Commandant had each Officer report on what they felt their duties were.
The report is much too long to add to these minutes, but will be added as a separate sheet at the
end of the minutes. See Attached.
ELECTIONS: None at this time
REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
PAVA Hospital – Lore Wiseman – None at this time
Devil Pups – Tim Curtin – We have 6 young members of the GGYM signed up for Devil Pups next
summer. The Devil Pups accept teenagers from 14 yrs old to 17 yrs old.
Activities – Toni Marte – None at this time.
REPORT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
Marine Corps Birthday Ball 2007 – Jr. Past Commandant Weisgerber – The Santa Clara Hilton
Hotel has been reserved for 2007.
Young Marines Raffle results – The Detachment members won 3 out of the 6 prizes given away,
with the Grand Prize, the M1 Garand going to Tim Curtin, the NCO Sword to Denny Weisgerber,
and one of the K-Bar’s going to Mike Glazzy.
Painted Flag – D. Weisgerber said the Flag has been repainted, the one off Hiway 680 going to
Livermore, and he will keep an eye on it.
Scrip to benefit the Detachment will be looked into again.
Laptop and Projector – part of the long term vision for the Detachment.
GOOD OF THE LEAGUE:
Member Lester Scott would like to have all the members go to www.letssaythanks.com where you
can pick out a thank you card and the Xerox Corporation will print it and send it to a service
member currently serving in Iraq.
Associate Member Brian Bonafede said that if the Detachment can put together a monthly
newsletter, that he will donate the printing of the newsletter.
Member Tim Curtin said that once he is done “playing” with the M1 Garand he will sell the rifle
and donate the money to the Detachment.
Raffle: a total of $65.00 was raised with $33.00 to the winner and $32.00 to the Detachment. Guest
Elmer Palmer won the money and immediately donated the winnings back to the Detachment.

Staff Officers meeting will be on 14 February 2007 at 1900 hrs.
The regular membership meeting will be on 17 February 2007 refreshments at 0930 hrs, meeting
at 1000 hrs.

ATTACHMENT TO THE MINUTES OF 20 JANUARY 2007
NEW OFFICERS REPORTS AND INTRODUCTIONS
S. V. COMMANDANT: Lore Wiseman – My job will be to carry out the office and duties of the S. V.
Commandant, to fulfill the duties of the Commandant when he is not present at official functions.
Continue as the Detachment Liaison to PAVA Hospital, I will also collect photo’s and bio/histories of
the members and add them to the Detachments History Books.
J. V. COMMANDANT: Skip Adams – My main job and purpose is Membership, both Retention and
Recruiting. I will also be responsible for assisting members in anything they may need.
JUDGE ADVOCATE: Dick La Tondre – My job is to be the watchdog of the Detachment, make sure
the meetings are run properly, To verify the Detachment By-Laws, and to recommend any
corrections, deletions or additions to the Detachment By-Laws.
JR. PAST COMMANDANT: Denny Weisgerber – My job is to be the Protocol Officer, backfill any
Officers position if that Officer is absent, welcome new members, and also assist any of the Officers
in the fulfillment of the duties of their office.
SGT. AT ARMS: Camilo De La Cueva – I make sure the meetings are called to order and to keep the
order during the meeting, present and retrieve the Colors during a meeting. I introduce any guests at
the meeting, run the raffle. I would also like to set up a Color Guard and a Rifle Honor Guard, once
the Detachment Rifles are received.
CHAPLAIN: Toni Marte – I am to give all the blessings during the meetings or special events. I am
also the Event Coordinator and plan on having some type of event at least once each quarter.
GRANTS, DONATIONS & FUNDING: Brian Bonafede – My job is to generate money for the
Detachment by promoting the Detachment, manage the Building Fund and work towards the
Detachment owning it’s own building.
HISTORIAN: David Williams – My job is to create and keep a History of the Detachment, by soliciting
biographies and military history of the members, along with pictures and stories of their service.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: David Williams -- My duties as that Chair will be to build a list of speakers that
can be called upon to give short informative presentations during the meetings, and also to develop
a list of contacts for press releases.
