INTRODUCTION
The right to information Act, 2005, received the assent of the
President of India on 15th June 2005.
The Act provides for Setting out the practical regime of right to
information for citizens to severe access to information under the
control of public authorities, in under to promote transparency go
accountability in the working of every public authority go for matters
connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The Act is aimed to fulfill the provision of democracy requiring
on informed citizen so transparency of information which are vital to
its functionary and to contain corruption and to hold Govt. and their
instrumentalities accountable to the governed.
The Act provides the right for the citizen to have the right to
information of all public authority record except the intelligence to
security organizations established by the Central Govt. where the
preservation of confidentiality of sensitive information in required for
the unity and integrity of the nation.
The act prescribes that every public Authority shall:-
(a) Maintain all its records duly catalogued by instead in
a manner and the from which facilities the right to
information and ensure that all records that are
appropriate are computerized and access to all
records is facilitated.
(b) The particulars of its organization, functions, duties,
responsibilities powers of its offices and employees,
details of mentally remunerations, details of Budgets
etc.,
(c) Publish all relevant facts while formulating important
policies or announcing the decisions, which affect
public.
(d) Provide reasons for its administrative or quasi-
judicial decisions to affected persons.

1 Assignment Assignment of Govt. land means grant of
land at the disposal of Govt. to the

The authority competent to assign the

/medical grounds after 5 years of
service.
d) Serving Soldiers.
e) Co-op Societies consisting of landless
poor persons.
f) Political sufferers.
For every original decision of
assignment, appeal is allowed within 30
days to the Divisional Officers and
Collector respectively and within 40 days
from the date of decision of the Collector to
the CCLA.
Lands assigned are subject to the
conditions laid down by the Got. And as
prescribed in B.S.O. The land assigned is
heritable but Not alienable.
The assignment is liable for cancellation
on violation of conditions.

HOMESTEADS Homestead means the site of any
dwelling house, built by a landless

Assigned Lands This is a protective legislation,
which come into force on

Recovery This act enables the Govt. to recover (i)

imprisonment of the defaulter or his

SUMMONS Collector, Sub-Collectors, Assistant
