                                      Lifeline Measurement Form
For safety as well as cosmetic reasons life lines need to be replaced at regular intervals depending upon use, UV exposure and
other environmental factors. Please use the diagram below as a guide to measuring your own lifelines, fill out table and fax or
email it in to American Rigging Supply, Inc.

The diagram below represents a typical lifeline arrangement which has upper and lower midships gates. If necessary, please
contact American Rigging Supply, Inc. for more detailed forms on Lifelines with aft or no gates.

Be sure to measure both sides of your boat as measurements often do not match from side to side. If your boat does not have
gates, please measure from the eye of ‘B’ to the eye of ‘D’. Please also indicate whether you prefer vinyl coated 7x7 or uncoated
1x19 lifelines. We use fittings from two of the leading manufacturers, Johnson Marine and Hayn Marine.

      B= Distance from the bearing surface of the stern eye to the inside bearing surface of the aft gate stanchion.
      C= Distance between inside bearing surfaces of the stanchion gates.
      D= Distance from the inside bearing surface of the forward gate stanchion to the bearing surface of the bow eye.

      Mark N/A for any measurements that don’t apply or if there are any special considerations.
       Although there are many variances when ordering, please keep in mind these more commonly used terminals
       pictured above such as Toggle Jaws, Single and Double Gate Eyes, Tubular and Cast Over the Center Pelican
       Hooks, Open and Closed Body Turnbuckles.
