									                                 The Root System:

                                It is usually underground.
                                It anchors the plant in the soil.
                                The root absorbs then conducts water and minerals to
                                 the stem.
                                It is food storage.

                                 The Shoot System:

                                It is usually above ground to elevate the plant from
                                 the soil.
                                The shoot system includes the stem, the leaves, and
                                 the reproductive organs.
                                It provides many functions including -
                                      o Photosynthesis.
                                      o Reproduction and dispersal.
                                      o Nutrients and water conduction.

                          The internal structures and specific functions are shown
                          in Figure 02.
