Carolyn Holly After more than 25 years of working in the field of broadcast news, Carolyn Holly is one of Idaho's most experienced and best-known television personalities. Indeed, she has been instrumental in helping KTVB become Idaho's news leader. She anchors Idaho’s most-watched newscast, the Emmy award winning News at 10. And, each day her loyal viewers get caught up on their daytime news with Carolyn on the News at Noon. Carolyn's work is not limited to weekdays. You can catch her on weekends on Seven Days, a weekly news wrap up show that she both produces and anchors. In her distinguished career, Carolyn has won numerous awards throughout the Northwest for her reports on health and social issues. Carolyn's broadcast career spans the globe. Over the years she has reported from Shanghai, China for the Special Olympics World Games, in Japan she brought us reports on our sister-country relationship for the Boise River Festival and from Mexico she covered the Governors trade Mission. As you might imagine, Carolyn has had a wide variety of news experiences, but certainly none as startling as the day she was indirectly hit by lightning while broadcasting live from the Boise River festival. "It was a real shocker for our viewers," she laughs. Amazingly, she was not seriously injured from the jolt- but these days she is a little more reluctant to head out in the live truck during electrical storms. While work and family occupy a great deal of her time, Carolyn manages to find plenty of time to give to her community. Her volunteer work includes: Past President of the Boise Public School Foundation, Past Chairman of The Governor’s Task Force on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, membership on the St. Luke's Hospital Children's Board, and The Idaho Women's Fitness Celebration. Carolyn and her family are also involved in youth athletics. "Sports are our family's passion," she says. "Dad's the coach, the boys are our stars and Mom's the Number One fan!"
