                                   Annual Scholarship Award
                                             2010

        The Houston Coaches Association will award two $1,000 scholarships to one male and one female
on an annual basis. The award will be presented at annual banquet each year in May.

Guidelines for qualifications:
    1. Must be a son, daughter or a legal guardian of a coach in the HISD who is a member of the
        Houston Coaches Association.
    2. Must be a graduating senior in the year that the scholarships are offered and all requirements have
        been met for graduation.
    3. May not have received another scholarship ( Athletic )
    4. Must have applied and been accepted by a two or four year accredited institution.
    5. Must be graduating with at least a 2.5 GPA.
    6. All applications must be accompanied with an official transcript, a one page typed essay on why
        you are deserving of this scholarship, one recommendation from a teacher, counselor or principal,
        one personal letter (from a friend), and a résumé .
    7. List your involvement within the school (extra curriculum), community, ect.
    8. Deadline for all applications is April of the designated school year. Applications should be sent to
        Ray Seals at Madison High School.
    9. Recipient and parents should be present at the annual HCA Coaches Award Banquet to be held in
        May of each year.
