                              DEVELOPMENT (MEED) DEGREE PROGRAMME
                                         2009/2010 INTAKE
The University of Dar es Salaam through its Business School (UDBS) and the University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship
Centre (UDEC) invites applications for admission into Master in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (MEED) Degree

Objective of the Programme:
The objective of the programme is to contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the private sector through building capacity
for institutional reform and development. The intention is to develop high-level competencies for enacting an enabling environment
for development of entrepreneurship, small enterprises and the private sector in general.
Timing:            To start in February 2010.
Duration:          The programme will run for 18 months (15 months for coursework and 3 months for the final
Mode of Delivery: The programme has 14 courses of 36 hours each and will run on modular basis having 5 modules of 2 weeks
each and a project work. In between the modules, students will undertake practical assignments.
Contents of the Programme:
  Entrepreneurship and enterprise development: process and              Technology transfer and innovation
  Enterprise development                                                Non-financial Business Development Services (BDS)
  Governance                                                            Small business finance
  Policy analysis, development and implementation                       International trade and e-commerce
  Regulatory framework                                                  Change management
  Policy research methods                                               Communication skills for policy makers
  Formalization                                                         Monitoring and evaluation of reforms

Minimum Entry Requirements
     First or second class honours or its equivalent from a recognized university or
     A Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development from the University of Dar es Salaam or
     Advanced Diploma from an accredited higher learning institution with a minimum second class upper division plus a
       Postgraduate Diploma or
     A recognized professional qualifications in business (with acceptable minimum secondary education) and
     At least two years working experience at middle or senior position in a job related to enterprise development

Fees:                        Tshs. 4,200,000/= for tuition and Tshs. 1,827,500/= as student direct costs.
                             Interested candidates are invited to collect application forms from UDEC, UDBS Building, and Room
                             312. Forms can also be downloaded from the UDEC Website ,

Application Deadline:        Dully completed forms should be returned to UDEC before 30th January 2010.
