VANCOUVER, BC – Virata Gamany values his employees. He understands just what any
employee is capable of when empowered with the support of his or her company. That is why he
has built what has come to be known as the Employee Power Hour into his office’s weekly
schedule.

Every Friday, the professionals in Virata Gamany’s office experience true camaraderie and
empowerment as they join together in a brainstorming session that has proven to produce some
powerful and lucrative ideas and approaches. Prior to having lunch, which the office purchases
for all participating employees, the group meets in a common room for a 30-minute session.
During this time, employees are invited to put forth any ideas they have for improving the
company and its position in the market.

Gamany has discovered that when he empowers his employees by allowing them to freely
experience their thoughts and ideas, and display their knowledge and skill, they tap into
something incredibly powerful.

“What started as just a good way to bring everyone together for some good, old-fashioned team
building,” says Gamany, “has turned into something unexpected—a power hour that has
empowered our employees and strengthen our company. The Employee Power Hour has proven
its worth time and again and is definitely a tool we’re going to continue leveraging for a long
time to come.
