  word must have a root word!

• EXAMPLE: the

• EXAMPLE:

  • Turns an adjective or
    verb into a noun
  • EXAMPLE:
    assistance- the act of
    assisting. (turns the
    verb assist into a
    noun)
                  -IVE
• Tending to be
  something
• EXAMPLE: Explosive:
  tending to explode
                   -EN
• Made of something;
  to make
• EXAMPLE: wooden
  (made of wood)
