WORK IN PROGRESS / UNDER REVIEW:
Member of European research project “Service Design in Tourism”.
The project was initiated by MCI Tourism and involves nine European partners from seven countries:
AHO University (Norway), Innovation Norway (Norway), Making Waves (Norway), Linköping
University (Sweden), Hotelschool The Hague (Netherlands), Savonia University of applied sciences
(Finland), SKEMA Business School (France) and Tourismuszukunft (Germany). The project started on
March 1st, 2011 and lasts for 18 months with a budget of € 440.000. It is funded by the European
Union under the CIP Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme.

On the basis of pilot studies from seven European destinations, the service design approach will be
applied to the tourism industry. Building on the prototype “myServiceFellow”
(www.myServiceFellow.com) developed by MCI Tourism, the application will be further developed
and tested in practice. The results will be published on the project website
www.servicedesigntourism.com, a joint book as well as at an international conference on „Service
Design in Tourism“at MCI Tourism in Innsbruck in summer 2012.
