WGBH names Ben Godley Chief Operating Officer
WGBH President and CEO Jonathan Abbott today announced that Ben Godley has been
appointed Chief Operating Officer for the WGBH Foundation, broadening his
responsibilities to include the operations of the Foundation across departments.
Godley has served as WGBH’s Executive Vice President since May of 2008.
“In addition to Ben’s role as EVP, I’m pleased to have him take on further
responsibility managing all day-to-day operations for WGBH,” said Abbott. “His
leadership will enhance the effectiveness of our strategic efforts across WGBH’s many
programs and services.”
Prior to WGBH, Godley co-founded and served as President and CEO of the
award-winning agency CGN Marketing & Creative Services. He later served as Senior
Advisor and Deputy National Finance Director with Romney for President, Inc. In 2005,
he was appointed Director of Governmental Affairs for the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts under Governor Romney, where he served on the Governor’s senior staff.

In addition to his professional positions, Godley has served on a number of
boards of non-profit organizations including the Massachusetts Children's Trust Fund,
Greater Boston Aid to the Blind, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay.
