Donald E. Cline- “Everyone learns, without exception.”

Vision:

Donald E. Cline is an elementary school which:
 Focuses on student learning, utilizing research-based instruction to meet the needs of
           every student
 Has high expectations for every student and staff member
 Differentiates instruction that allows all students to excel
 Empowers highly-trained staff members to seek
Professional Development and teach other staff members
 Fosters positive relationships within the school and the community

Our Mission:

The mission of Donald E. Cline Elementary, in partnership with students, staff, parents, and
community, is to provide our students with an experience that enriches their academic achievement as
well as all areas in their life, enabling them to become respectful, successful life-long learners.
We Believe:

   Students come first.
 All students can learn and will succeed given time and support.
 All students must develop self-discipline and personal responsibility.
 All students must be challenged to reach their highest potential.
 Community, parents, and educators working together will create the best support for students.
 Community, families, educators, and students share in the responsibility for learning.
 Learning is a lifelong process.
 Everyone must be treated with dignity and respect.
Plan Summary:

Our school is a Title 1 based on the number of students receiving free or reduced lunch. This rate is
52%. Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. Our multicultural ethnic population has
allowed our instructors and students opportunities to become familiar and compassionate about
others. Cline Elementary implements AM and PM Preschool. Our K-5 configuration consists of 2.5
kindergarten classrooms including half day and full day students, two classrooms of each for grades
1, 2, 4, and 5. We have three third grade classrooms and also house The 180 Program students from
the district grades K-5 who have behavioral/emotional needs. We are a team of individuals who
believe anything is possible and teach to Plans. Our plan includes goals and strategies to be
implemented to enhance student learning and to continue to close the gaps with our Free and
Reduce population and students with disabilities, even though they are close or above 100.

Our plan involved the students/faculty/staff at Cline Elementary with committee input. It was devised
and submitted to our Site Based Decision Making Council for review. The council uses the needs
assessment process aligned with the Kentucky Standards and we reviewed data on student
performance form KCCT scores, MAP scores, Voyager, and V-Math. The plan was placed on Donald E.
Cline’s web-site during the month and was also presented at a monthly PTO meeting for parental and
community input. It was approved by our SBDM Council.

The SIP will be monitored through Implementation and impact checks through evidence of
student data and evidence based instruction of progress and success, as expected from all
stakeholders.
