High Wycombe 9’s Blue vs Bassendean Black
Better Players: Isiah, Jake Dyer, Jason, Tyson, Hamish, Jake Penn
Comments: Well done boys, a good effort in such cold and wet conditions.
Your skills were good considering the slippery conditions. It was great to see
you all out there trying your best . Remember to call loudly for the ball.
Thanks to Duane for umpiring and Josh for Goal Umpiring today.
Keep up the good work
Louise Manager

9’s White vs Swan View Maroon
Better Players:
Comments:Great game today boys - your determination and passion for footy
on these cold wet mornings is admirable, you should all be very proud of
yourselves! I am proud to say that the whole team has come together and
everyone is playing a valuable part in our team. The team work is great and
fantastic to watch! Just remember we need to stay focused at
training... Thanks again Kev for braving the rain and donning the goal
umpire’s jacket once again!
Chris - Coach

10’s Blue vs Kalmunda Gold
Captain: Jack Dowsett
Better Players: The Whole Team!
Comments: You boys wanted a wet day, and you got it today!! Great game in
very trying conditions, you all worked very hard on the ground and in the
packs, great handballs out and onto the running players. 3rd quater was non
preferred and we saw you all thinking out there and great efforts were
made. Congrat's to all our goal scorers today. Thanks to Motts for being
goalie. Thanks to all the Brave parents who stood out in that rain!!!! Well
done boys, awesome job. Go Bulldogs!
Julie Gilham

10’s White v Forrestfield Blue
Captain - Jake
Better Players – Whole team
Comments- I have to say that today was an excellent game in the trying
conditions down at Forrestfield. Our boys kept on their players and stayed in
their positions. Excellent listening today also. Well done to our goal
kickers. Congratulations boys keep up the good work, I am very proud of you
all. Thanks to all our boys who played for the other team.
Debbie Boardley (Team Manager)

                                       3
11’s vs Lesmurdie
Captain: Liam Rogers
Better Players: Shannon, Steven, Slade, Liam, Alec, Toby, Jarrod, Jesse,
Michael, Jay, Ryan, Jack, Cameron, Luke
Comments: The team played extremely well on Sunday given the very wet
and cold conditions. They all stepped up and played a great game. Good to
see you all taking on board what you've been told at training. Putting your
bodies in first, going hard at the ball and getting rewarded by the umpire. Well-
done!!!! There also was some really good tackling going on, good to see!!!
However we still need to practise our shepherding, we lacked in that area
today. Awesome effort Bullys keep up the good work!!!
Congratulations to Liam for being captain for the day, Fantastic effort Jay 5
goals, awesome effort to Jesse and Michael 4 goals each and Well-done to
Cameron, Shannon and Luke 1 goal each.
Also like to mention what a Fantastic job john did umpiring.
Ally Jones Team Manager

12’s Blue vs Swan View Blue
Captain: Jake Turvey
Better Players: Michael Fisher, Kye White, Tyson Barnet, Adam Stewart,
Jake Turvey
Comments: Congratulations to our 50 game recipients; Jake Turvey and
Mitchell Crook.
A very cold and wet game making play rather slow and stunted. Well done
Tyson for having super glue on his fingers making the ball stick. Some
pleasing effort by Kye showing his skills are developing. We still need to looks
for our leads and come forward. It’s only water but some weren’t keen on the
weather.
Thanks to Colin Black for umpiring when none turned up. Thanks to Dave
Hunter for the very wet job in goals, and Big thank s to Steve Jose for bring
our runner even though his son is currently not playing
By Rohan

12’s White vs Midvale
Better Players: Jayden Magro, Corey Amato, Luke Fromont, Glen Preston,
Dale Wilkins, Liam Campbell
Comments: Great weather for footy today if you’re a duck! The boys took the
field in wet and cold conditions, which they never really seemed to come to
terms with today. Most of our footy has been in fine conditions and this really
showed with our inability to pick the football up and execute basic ball skills.
The boys also appeared to be a little intimidated today by a much bigger
Midvale team. But that’s footy boys; you don’t get to choose your opponents,
you just have to get out there and play the same game you play every week.
Let’s make sure we all get to training this week and work on our ground game
and our tackling and shepherding.

                                       4
13’s vs Bassendean White
High Wycombe 3.5 23 defeated Bassendean White 2.8 20
Goal Kickers: Nathan Brinkworth 1, Tim Otway 1, Brayden Patching 1
Better Players: Matt Kang, Tim Otway, Ben Stewart, Jose Hegotule,
Benjamin Mitchell, Jordan Hadfield
Comments: What a day for football; rainy and cold. The boys were 21 players
who committed to be first to the ball and play man on man football. All day we
were first to the ball and were rewarded with first use. Matt Kang controlled
the centre and put his body on the line to give his teammates the ball. Tim
started back and roved, always getting the ball forward. Jordan used his body
and protected the smaller players. Brayden kicked a great goal by being in
front.
Boys, when you are as committed as that to be first to the ball and compete all
over for 4 quarters, you will always come out in front.
Dave Parker

14’s vs Darlington Parkerville
High Wycombe 10.10 70 defeated Darlington Parkerville 2.2 14
Goal Kickers Brody 3, Cameron 2, Shaun, Kerry, Zak, Josh G, And Rhodesy
1 each
Better Players: Shaun, Steven, Emad, Brody, Josh R, Josh G, Brandon, Ron
Comments: Guys, much better game of football this week. We went out there
with you all given specific jobs to do and you responded exactly how we had
planned to start. The second quarter we backed off a little bit and with a bit of
encouragement you all came out after half time with a different attitude and
put on an excellent display of football in terrible raining conditions. I would like
to thank you all for a great effort and am looking forward to taking the same
determination into this week’s game against Ellenbrook. Congratulations to
Brody on 100 games and to you all on your beautiful singing voices after the
game maybe we could start up the High Wycombe choir.
Well Done Boys

17’s vs Mazenod Blue
High Wycombe 9.11 65 to Mazenod Blue 4.4.28
Goal Kickers: Levi Liddle 3, Ben Hunter, Mitchell King, Lucas MaCahon,
Justin Pezzali, Hayden Rudd and Daniel Williamson 1 each.
Better Players: Daniel Iffla, Matt Buxton, Matt Brough, Dale Richardson and
Alex Secull.
Comments: Very tough conditions today and the boys battled it out for
another good win in the end; but it was another game, where, at times, they
made it much harder for themselves than it really should have been. Very
simple instructions for the boys today, it’s wet, windy and very slippery – 1: do

                                         5
(17’s continued)
not overuse the ball. 2: get it onto the boot quickly. 3: look to switch it to the
open side and use the space to run. All great in theory, but if you go out and
try to over do things and not follow simple instructions, today’s performance is
what you end up with.
We as a group spoke about a lot of things on the track last week, words like
RESPECT, TEAM, PRIDE and ATTITUDE all came up – the bottom line, we
all agreed on, was until every player starts to work on these things, the group
will continue to deliver uninspiring performances, unfortunately today was
another of those occasions. Overall we are well placed, 6 wins and only 1
narrow loss, but I believe we still have room for improvement, boys. Look to
take this challenge.
We have big games over the next 2 weeks, this week against Kalamunda (1
verus 2) and then Mazenod White (3 verus 2). They will be a real crackers
and a couple of tough days in the office, but, if the boys can get their mindset
and commitment right, we can take it right up to them and come out on top.
Let’s really get together on the track, work through this period of learning and
look to play some far more consistent football.
Mr Whol
