The feel of youth rushes
Through the soul of the old man
And suddenly he is in his childhood again.
The days of innocence return to him,
The happy, simple smiles light his face again.
His body is invincible.
He cannot feel the pain.
He is once again surrounded by his friends,
All laughing and playing
And having a good time.
His energy is boundless.
Tiredness does not daunt his body nor his mind.
The times he shall ever refer to as “The Good Times”
Are as real again as though he just lived them
The smile of those days past
Rests once again on that face.
The face of the old man
In the 18-years young body
That is swiftly catching up with him.
As he returns to his task,
The feeling fades back into memory,
But the effects and the smile
Still rest upon his face.
