Text: Structure & Function of the Body; 11th edition, Authors: Thibodeau & Patton Course Description: This course is a continuation of the principles learned in Biology. Its focus is Human Anatomy and Physiology. This course is essential in preparing you for your clinical experiences, which you take during your Junior and Senior years. Requirements: You will have a major research assignment on a particular system of the body and/or diseases assigned each semester. You will be working in teams on the first assignment and individually on the second assignment. You will report your findings to the class in a presentation format such as PowerPoint or a poster session. Evaluation: Grading is as follows: Percentage 93-100 90-92 87-89 83-86 80-82 77-79 73-76 70-72 67-69 63-66 60-62 0-59 *(Grade Point Average) Research/Projects/Laboratories = 25% Assignments = 20%

Tests and Quizzes = 40% Journaling/Participation = 15%

Journaling: With each chapter you discover, you will have several journaling exercises as well as the ”Applying What You Know” section located in each chapter. Tests: You will be tested at the end of each chapter. You will have between 1-3 tests each marking period. There will also be announced quizzes.
