AMN HEALTHCARE - Director of Risk Management for Professional (Medical
Malpractice) & General Liability with at least 8-10 years progressive experience. This
position will manage a staff of two other professionals and report to the Senior VP
General Counsel. Our client prefers to seek a candidate that is either local to San Diego
or would require a modest relocation allowance.
Responsible for and has the authority to make all decisions regarding the general and professional liability programs for
this healthcare services company. Coordinate with the leadership of the Legal, Finance and Business units to evaluate
and study professional and general liability risk and implement goals and strategies. A recognized risk leader, who is a
dynamic, proactive and decisive to educate and train management on risk identification and mitigation. Exhibits
intimate industry knowledge of internal business processes with a broad based operational perspective to provide
solutions for non-insurance related business risk issues. Strong aptitude in partnership with internal alliances to
optimize risk. Key traits for the individual in this position are: highly developed communicator, team player, strategic
and creative, ability to drive performance and initiate change. Excellent project management skills with the ability to
adapt well to and apply technology to met risk management needs from all areas within the company.
Duty & Responsibilities:
Assist Senior VP in design and development and execution of optimal risk/finance strategies relating to
Responsible for outcomes based professional liability program involving varying levels of healthcare
professionals and range of clinical settings.
Primary responsibility for Company's general and professional liability programs partnering with Clinical
Quality, Education and Sales teams to maintain Company's quality reputation.
Management Responsibility for Department for two team members.
Responsible for review of contracts with healthcare facilities regarding insurance requirements and working with
brokers and carriers to meet requirements.
Responsible for establishing Company's professional liability loss reserves working with actuaries, Company's
finance team and third party administrators.
Management of Company's other professional liability claims working with outside counsel on case management
Position Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, ARM Certification
Experience: Minimum 10 years of healthcare risk management experience with progressive managerial
