Visitors and Pasadenans can get a glimpse of the city’s rich history
by visiting Heritage Park and Museum. With a population of more
than 150,000, Pasadena is Texas’ 17th largest city. Today, our city’s
attractions include Galveston Bay, NASA’s Johnson Space Center, the
Port of Houston and one of the world’s largest refining and chemical
manufacturing complexes. However, many people overlook one of
the most important elements of Pasadena’s rich heritage: the city is
the actual birthplace of free Texas.
We have come a long way from our roots as a small agricultural
outpost just over a century ago. Guests can tour the historic
Pomeroy House and Strawberry House, view distinctive antiques
and memorabilia from the area’s first settlers, and hear the amazing
stories of perseverance and commitment that helped build Pasadena
into the strong, thriving city it is today.
