TED BIGELOW, WINNIPEG
Chef de Mission
Experience: Has over two decades of Games experience as an athlete,
             coach and staff person; coached the National Cross-
             Country Ski Team at the World Junior Championships and
             at many World Cups; was also very active on the bid and
             staging of the 1999 Pan American Games.
Comments: Enjoys spending time with his family at the cabin, skiing,
             cycling and playing rec hockey.

SHAWNEE SCATLIFF, WINNIPEG
Assistant Chef de Mission
Experience: 1967 and 1971 Canada Winter Games – figure skating
             bronze medallist. 1977 Canada Summer Games – tennis
             athlete. Canada Games Assistant Chef de Mission (1997-
             2011). Western Canada Summer Games Chef de Mission
             in 2003; Assistant Chef in 2007 and 2011; Commonwealth
             Games – mission staff in 2002; Assistant Chef in 2006.
             2008 Commonwealth Youth Games Chef de Mission.
Comments: Two daughters and a son (this year) have competed at a
             Canada Games. Looking forward to a successful Games for
             all of Team Manitoba.



BARRY MOROz, WINNIPEG
Media/Communications
Experience: Canada Games (1995-2011); Western Canada Summer
            Games (1990-2011); Pan Am Games (1999); North
            American Indigenous Games (2002).
Comments: Former radio and television broadcaster, former baseball
            and hockey coach, spends as much time as he can on the
            golf course.




MARCIE HALLS-STRONCISKI,
WINNIPEG
Office Manager
Experience: 1994 Manitoba Winter Games – figure skating athlete.
            2005 and 2009 Canada Summer Games, 2006, 2008 and
            2010 Manitoba Games.
Comments: Has two children and two dogs. Stays active by working out,
            yoga, pilates, rollerblading and occasionally playing
            volleyball.

     MELISSA DEONARAINE, WINNIPEG
     Medical
     Experience: Certified Athletic Therapist. Field work at the 2008
                 Manitoba Games. Head Therapist working with the Under
                 15 Girls Provincial Soccer team. She will also be the
                 Medical Liaison for the 2011 Western Canada Summer
                 Games.
     Comments: Originally from Georgetown, Guyana. Played field hockey
                 for Team Manitoba at the 2001 Canada Summer Games.


     JORDAN DRIEDGER, WINKLER
     Games Assistant
     Experience: First Canada Games. Doing fieldwork for his Bachelor of
                 Recreation Management and Community Development
                 diploma at the University of Manitoba.
     Comments: Has been involved with sport all his life playing organized
                 hockey, baseball, and soccer. Coached Special Olympics,
                 baseball, and hockey in his hometown winning the Silvio
                 Sboto Memorial Rural Male Coach Award and a Coaching
                 Manitoba Scholarship. 




     LAUREN ROUSSEAU, WINNIPEG
     Administration
     Special Olympics Figure Skating
     Experience: Looking forward to her first Canada Games. Did her
                  student placement with Team Manitoba.
     Comments: Kinesiology student at the U of Manitoba. Plays on the
                  university golf team. Plays Division 2 Soccer and is an Irish
                  Dancer.




     DOUG KROCHAK, WINNIPEG
     Planning
     Experience: Department of Kinesiology and Applied Health at the
                 University of Winnipeg – Principles of Coaching.
                 National Multi-sport Master Learning Facilitator. Football
                 and lacrosse coach.
     Comments: Was on Mission Staff for the 1987 Cape Breton Canada
                 Winter Games. Member of the Winnipeg High School
                 Football Hall of Fame.

DAVE BENSON, WINNIPEG
Week 1 – Biathlon
Week 2 – Cross Country Ski
Experience: Western Canada Summer Games – Organizer and
            Official for Cycling.
Comments: Attended 2005 and 2009 Canada Summer Games as a
            cycling parent. Sister Mary competed in cross-country
            skiing at the 2010 Paralympics. Hobbies include
            photography.




PETER CONWAY, DAUPHIN
Week 1 – Hockey (Male)
Week 2 – Boxing
Experience: 2001 Canada Games. 1999 and 2007 Western
            Canada Summer Games.
Comments: Originally from Dungannon, Northern Ireland. Is the
            Regional Manager for Sport Manitoba Parkland.




BILL GENDRON, WINNIPEG
Week 1 – Speed Skating
Week 2 – Alpine Ski
Experience: 2003 and 2007 Canada Winter Games Speed
            Skating Manager.
Comments: Goal is help the coaches and athletes enjoy the Games and
            perform at their best.




RYAN GIESBRECHT, WINNIPEG
Week 1 – Squash
Week 2 – Badminton
Experience: Badminton coach at the 2010 Manitoba Winter Games.
            Made the round of 16 in men’s singles at Canadian National
            Badminton Championships. Consolation winner in men’s
            singles and mixed doubles at 2010 Junior Nationals.
Comments: Jigged for 75 minutes before a world-wide audience as part
            of the Metis culture in the Opening Ceremonies for the
            Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

     KYLO HARRIS, LUNDAR
     Week 1 – Freestyle Ski
     Week 2 – Snowboard
     Experience: 2009 Canada Summer Games. 2007 Western Canada
                 Summer Games. 2010, 2008 and 2006 Manitoba Games.
     Comments: Originally from Goose Bay, Labrador. Is Coaching
                 Manitoba’s Rural Coaching Manager. Proud father of first
                 new born in January.




     DAVE LITTLE, LUNDAR
     Week 1 – Shooting
     Week 2 – Archery
     Experience: 2004 and 2006 Arctic Winter Games. 2008 and 2010
                 Manitoba Games.
     Comments: Is involved with the development of Lacrosse at the
                 regional, provincial and national levels.




     DEAN LUCHIK, WINNIPEG
     Week 2 – Judo
     Experience: Works in the cardiac rehabilitation field providing exercise
                 programs for individuals with numerous chronic diseases.
     Comments: Plays recreational hockey. Made an all-star team playing
                 junior hockey. Inspired by David Markham to get involved
                 in as many extracurricular activities and volunteer
                 opportunities as he could.




     KATE MCGARRY, WINNIPEG
     Week 1 – Ringette
     Week 2 – Hockey (Female)
     Experience: Has been involved in sport for 15 years. Works for
                 CancerCare Manitoba and promotes the benefits of sport
                 and physical activity in reducing the risk.
     Comments: Goals for the Games are to support her teams to help them
                 perform at the best of their abilities.

Week 1 – Wheelchair Basketball
Week 2 – Synchronized Swimming
Experience: Team Winnipeg Mission Staff for 2010 Manitoba Winter
            Games. Is the Program Coordinator with Swim Manitoba.
Comments: Plays competitive beach volleyball and recreational
            slo-pitch. Has a twin sister and they share the same birth
            date as their brother who is four years older.




ELAINE OWEN, CARMAN
Week 2 – Curling (Male)
Experience: Has coached curling at various levels for 25 years. Is the
            Development Coordinator for Curl Manitoba.
Comments: Has been involved in many Manitoba Games as a parent,
            coach and organizer. Served as Host Society Co-Chair for
            the 2008 Manitoba Summer Games in Carman




JAMIE PHAM, WINNIPEG
National Artists Program Manager
Experience: 2009 Canada Summer Games National Artist – Music Arts
             - Percussion
Comments: Has been performing for 11 years. Attends Carnegie Mellon
             University in Pittsburgh. Wants to make the Games as
             enjoyable and memorable for Team Manitoba as it was
             for her.

Week 1 – Curling (Female)
Week 2 – Table Tennis
Experience: Manitoba Summer and Winter Games since 1998. 2003
            Western Canada Summer Games – Sport Advisor for
            Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Comments: Is the Regional Manager for Sport Manitoba Eastman.

     Experience: 2005 Canada Summer Games – Rowing athlete; 2007
                 Western Canada Summer Games – Manager for the rowing
