Gen 4:10-12
10 The LORD said, "What have you done?
Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to
me from the ground. 11 Now you are
under a curse and driven from the ground,
which opened its mouth to receive your
brother's blood from your hand. 12 When
you work the ground, it will no longer yield
its crops for you. You will be a restless
wanderer on the earth."
Matt 23:33-36 (The Seventh Woe)
33 "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will
you escape being condemned to hell? 34
Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise
men and teachers. Some of them you will kill
and crucify; others you will flog in your
synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35
And so upon you will come all the righteous
blood that has been shed on earth, from the
blood of righteous Abel to the blood of
Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you
murdered between the temple and the altar.
Rev 19:13-14
13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in
blood , and his name is the Word of
God.

Mizpah.
Ex 4:25-26
25 But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut
off her son's foreskin and touched
[Moses'] feet with it. "Surely you are a
bridegroom of blood to me," she said.
26 So the LORD let him alone. (At
that time she said "bridegroom of
blood ," referring to circumcision.)

Heb 11:28
28 By faith he kept the Passover and the
sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the
firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.

NOTE
•First test of Israel’s obedience.
•This sign was never repeated again
• The Blood was a sign for the destroyer angel
•It was only to be on the three sides of the door
frame.
•It was to be applied with hyssop.
•Occupants of the house are saved only if they
stay indoors.
•It was for protection.
•Note that their salvation did not occur until the
crossing of the red sea – 1Cor. 10:1
Ex 12:22-23
22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the
basin and put some of the blood on the top and on
both sides of the doorframe. Not one of you shall go
out the door of his house until morning. 23 When the
LORD goes through the land to strike down the
Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides
of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and
he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses
and strike you down.

Ex 24:6-8
6 Moses took half of the blood and put it in
bowls, and the other half he sprinkled on the
altar. 7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant
and read it to the people. They responded, "We
will do everything the LORD has said; we will
obey."
8 Moses then took the blood , sprinkled it on
the people and said, "This is the blood of the
covenant that the LORD has made with you in
accordance with all these words."
Ex 30:10
10 Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its
horns. This annual atonement must be made with
the blood of the atoning sin offering for the
generations to come. It is most holy to the LORD."

• ATONEMENT: Make amends or Reparation for wrong
or injury

Heb 9:7
7 But only the high priest entered the inner room, and
that only once a year, and never without blood, which
he offered for himself and for the sins the people had
committed in ignorance.
Lev 8:30
30 Then Moses took some of the anointing oil
and some of the blood from the altar and
sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments and
on his sons and their garments. So he
consecrated Aaron and his garments and
his sons and their garments.

Ex 29:32-34
33 They are to eat these offerings by which
atonement was made for their ordination and
consecration . But no one else may eat them,
because they are sacred.
Lev 3:17
17 "'This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to
come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or
any blood.'"

Lev 7:26-27
26 And wherever you live, you must not eat the
blood of any bird or animal. 27 If anyone eats blood,
that person must be cut off from his people

Lev 19:26
26 "'Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
Lev 17:10-14
10 "'Any Israelite or any alien living among them who
eats any blood — I will set my face against that
person who eats blood and will cut him off from his
people. 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood,
and I have given it to you to make atonement for
yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes
atonement for one's life. 12 Therefore I say to the
Israelites, "None of you may eat blood, nor may an
alien living among you eat blood."
13 "'Any Israelite or any alien living among you who
hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain
out the blood and cover it with earth, 14 because the
life of every creature is its blood . That is why I have
said to the Israelites, "You must not eat the blood
of any creature, because the life of every
creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be
cut off."
Lev 4:7-8
7 The priest shall then put some of the blood on the
horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before
the LORD in the Tent of Meeting. The rest of the
bull's blood he shall pour out at the base of the
altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tent of
Meeting.

Deut 12:27
27 Present your burnt offerings on the altar of the
LORD your God, both the meat and the blood . The
blood of your sacrifices must be poured beside
the altar of the LORD your God, but you may eat the
meat.
Lev 8:15-16
15 Moses slaughtered the bull and took some of
the blood , and with his finger he put it on all
the horns of the altar to purify the altar. He
poured out the rest of the blood at the
base of the altar. So he consecrated it to
make atonement for it.

Lev 4:25
25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood
of the sin offering with his finger and put it on
the horns of the altar of burnt offering and
pour out the rest of the blood at the base
of the altar.
Lev 14:48-57
48 "But if the priest comes to examine it and the
mildew has not spread after the house has been
plastered, he shall pronounce the house clean,
because the mildew is gone. 49 To purify the
house he is to take two birds and some cedar
wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop. 50 He shall kill
one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot. 51
Then he is to take the cedar wood, the hyssop,
the scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them into
the blood of the dead bird and the fresh
water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
52 He shall purify the house with the bird's
blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar
wood, the hyssop and the scarlet yarn. 53 Then
he is to release the live bird in the open fields
outside the town. In this way he will make
atonement for the house, and it will be clean."

54 These are the regulations for any infectious
skin disease, for an itch, 55 for mildew in
clothing or in a house, 56 and for a swelling, a
rash or a bright spot, 57 to determine when
something is clean or unclean.

These are the regulations for infectious skin
diseases and mildew.
Lev 15:19
19 "'When a woman has her regular flow of blood,
the impurity of her monthly period will last seven
days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean
till evening.

Lev 15:25
25 "'When a woman has a discharge of blood for
many days at a time other than her monthly
period or has a discharge that continues beyond
her period, she will be unclean as long as she has
the discharge, just as in the days of her period.
Matt 26:26-29
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave
thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples,
saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."

27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it
to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is
my blood of the covenant, which is poured out
for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell
you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now
on until that day when I drink it anew with you in
my Father's kingdom."
Matt 27:3-10
3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was
condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the
thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. 4 "I
have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent
blood."
"What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your
responsibility."
5 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then
he went away and hanged himself.
6 The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is
against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is
blood money." 7 So they decided to use the money to buy
the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners. 8 That is
why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9
Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was
fulfilled: "They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on
him by the people of Israel, 10 and they used them to buy
the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."
Matt 27:24-25
24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but
that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and
washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of
this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!"
25 All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and
on our children!"

Luke 11:50-51
50 Therefore this generation will be held responsible for
the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since
the beginning of the world, 51 from the blood of Abel to
the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar
and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be
held responsible for it all.
Acts 2:36-37
36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has
made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and
Christ."

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the
heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers,
what shall we do?"

Acts 5:28
28 "We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,"
he said. "Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching
and are determined to make us guilty of this man's
blood."
Rom 3:21-26

21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from
law, has been made known, to which the Law and
the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God
comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who
believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that came
by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice
of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this
to demonstrate his justice, because in his
forbearance he had left the sins committed
beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate
his justice at the present time, so as to be just and
the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
1 Cor 11:25-26
25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup,
saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood ; do
this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me."

Heb 9:18-22
18 This is why even the first covenant was not put into
effect without blood . 19 When Moses had proclaimed
every commandment of the law to all the people, he took
the blood of calves, together with water, scarlet wool and
branches of hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the
people. 20 He said, "This is the blood of the covenant,
which God has commanded you to keep." 21 In the
same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the
tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. 22 In
fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed
with blood , and without the shedding of blood there is
no forgiveness.
Heb 12:22-24

22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the
heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You
have come to thousands upon thousands of angels
in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn,
whose names are written in heaven. You have come
to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of
righteous men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the
mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled
blood that speaks a better word than the blood of
Abel.

Heb 13:20-21
20 May the God of peace, who through the blood
of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead
our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
John 6:53-57
53 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you
eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood; you
have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks
my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the
last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real
drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
remains in me, and I in him.

Acts 18:6
6 But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive,
he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them,
"Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my
responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."
1 Cor 15:50
50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and
blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God,
nor does the perishable inherit the
imperishable.

Eph 6:11-13
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark
world and against the spiritual forces of evil
in the heavenly realms.
John 19:33-35
34 Instead, one of the soldiers
pierced Jesus' side with a spear,
bringing a sudden flow of blood
and water.
Acts 15:23-29
The apostles and elders, your brothers,
To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:

Greetings.
24 We have heard that some went out from us without our
authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what
they said. 25 So we all agreed to choose some men and send
them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul— 26 men
who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of
mouth what we are writing. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit
and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following
requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols,
from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual
immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.
Farewell.
Rom 5:9
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood , how much
more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

Eph 1:3-9
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual
blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation
of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he
predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ,
in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his
glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he
loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's
grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and
understanding.
Eph 2:13
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far
away have been brought near through the blood
of Christ.

Col 1:18-20
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is
the beginning and the firstborn from among the
dead, so that in everything he might have the
supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his
fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to
reconcile to himself all things, whether things on
earth or things in heaven, by making peace
through his blood, shed on the cross
Heb 9:12-14
12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats
and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once
for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal
redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and
the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are
ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are
outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the
blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our
consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we
may serve the living God!

Heb 9:22
22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be
cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of
blood there is no forgiveness.
Heb 10:1-4
10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things
that are coming — not the realities themselves.
For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices
repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect
those who draw near to worship. 2 If it could,
would they not have stopped being offered? For
the worshipers would have been cleansed once for
all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their
sins. 3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder
of sins, 4 because it is impossible for the
blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Heb 10:15-23
15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
16 "This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds."
17 Then he adds:
"Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more."

18 And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any
sacrifice for sin.
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter
the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new
and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his
body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of
God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us
from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with
pure water.
Heb 13:11-13
11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into
the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies
are burned outside the camp. 12 And so Jesus
also suffered outside the city gate to make the
people holy through his own blood .

1 Peter 1:2
2 who have been chosen according to the
foreknowledge of God the Father, through the
sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus
Christ and sprinkling by his blood :
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
1 Peter 1:18-20
18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such
as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty
way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but
with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or
defect.

1 John 1:7
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his
Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 5:6-8
6 This is the one who came by water and blood — Jesus
Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and
blood . And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is
the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the
water and the blood ; and the three are in agreement.
Rev 1:5
5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the
firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his
blood ,

Rev 5:9
9 And they sang a new song:
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals,
because you were slain, and with your blood you
purchased men for God from every tribe and language
and people and nation.

Rev 7:15
14 I answered, "Sir, you know."
And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great
tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them
white in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 19:2
2 for true and just are his judgments.
He has condemned the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth by her adulteries.
He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.“

Rev 18:24
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of the
saints, and of all who have been killed on the earth.“

Rev 14:20
20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the
city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high
as the horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.
Rev 16:3-6
3 The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea,
and it turned into blood like that of a dead man,
and every living thing in the sea died.
4 The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers
and springs of water, and they became blood . 5
Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:
"You are just in these judgments,
you who are and who were, the Holy One,
because you have so judged;
6 for they have shed the blood of your saints and
prophets,
and you have given them blood to drink as they
deserve."
Rev 12:11
11 They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
Heb 10
10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things
that are coming — not the realities themselves. For
this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated
endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw
near to worship. 2 If it could, would they not have
stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have
been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have
felt guilty for their sins. 3 But those sacrifices are an
annual reminder of sins, 4 because it is impossible
for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:
"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body
you prepared for me; 6 with burnt offerings and sin
offerings you were not pleased.
7 Then I said, 'Here I am — it is written about me in
the scroll — I have come to do your will, O God.'"
8 First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt
offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were
you pleased with them" (although the law required
them to be made). 9 Then he said, "Here I am, I have
come to do your will." He sets aside the first to
establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have
been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of
Jesus Christ once for all.
11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his
religious duties; again and again he offers the same
sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But
when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice
for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. 13
Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made
his footstool, 14 because by one sacrifice he has made
perfect forever those who are being made holy.
15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First
he says:
16 "This is the covenant I will make with them after
that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their
hearts, and I will write them on their minds."
17 Then he adds:
"Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
18 And where these have been forgiven, there is no
longer any sacrifice for sin.
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence
to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of
Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us
through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we
have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us
draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance
of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from
a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with
pure water.
23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for
he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how
we may spur one another on toward love and good
deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some
are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one
another — and all the more as you see the Day
approaching.
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have
received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins
is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and
of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28
Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without
mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29
How much more severely do you think a man deserves
to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under
foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of
the covenant that sanctified him, and who has
insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I
will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people."
31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the
living God.
32 Remember those earlier days after you had received
the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest
in the face of suffering. 33 Sometimes you were publicly
exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you
stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34
You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully
accepted the confiscation of your property, because you
knew that you yourselves had better and lasting
possessions.
35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be
richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere so that when
you have done the will of God, you will receive what he
has promised. 37 For in just a very little while,
"He who is coming will come and will not delay
38 But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he
shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him."
39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are
destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
NIV
Col 2:13-23
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the
uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive
with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having
canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was
against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away,
nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the
powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of
them, triumphing over them by the cross.

16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you
eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New
Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a
shadow of the things that were to come; the reality,
however, is found in Christ.
18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and
the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a
person goes into great detail about what he has seen,
and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.
19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the
whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments
and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of
this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you
submit to its rules: 21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do
not touch!"? 22 These are all destined to perish with use,
because they are based on human commands and
teachings. 23 Such regulations indeed have an
appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship,
their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body,
but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
THE SALVATION
OF SINFUL MAN!
It is not for protection from earthly dangers or troubles.
It is not a commodity to purify our earthly possessions like cars or houses.
It is not an antidote from Auto accidents.
It is not a substitute for lazy college students who will not read for examinations.
It is not a good luck charm, talisman or ornament.
It is not for sale or private procession!
1 Tim 1:3-7
3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay
there in Ephesus so that you may command certain
men not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 nor to
devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies.
These promote controversies rather than God's work
— which is by faith. 5 The goal of this command is
love, which comes from a pure heart and a good
conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have
wandered away from these and turned to
meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the
law, but they do not know what they are talking
about or what they so confidently affirm.

What Can Wash
Away My Sin?
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

   Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
    No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my pardon, this I see:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

   Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
    No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
   Nothing can for sin atone,
 Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

   Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
    No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Glory Be to Jesus
    Glory be to Jesus,
   Who, in bitter pains,
Poured for me the lifeblood
  From His sacred veins.

  Grace and life eternal
   In that blood I find;
 Blest be His compassion,
      Infinitely kind.
Abel’s blood for vengeance
  Pleaded to the skies;
  But the blood of Jesus
  For our pardon cries.

  Oft as it is sprinkled
  On our guilty hearts,
  Satan, in confusion,
 Terror-struck, departs.
 Lift we then our voices,
 Swell the mighty flood;
  Louder still and louder
Praise the precious blood!
