Elder Law & Financial Planning Panel
Don L. Rosenberg, Attorney, Partner & Co-founder of The Center for Elder Law,
The Center for Special needs planning and The Center for Probate Litigation
This workshop is a must for every caregiver! We will discuss probate court issues, such as guardian-
ships, conservatorships & wills to basic estate planning such as durable powers of attorney, advance
directives and revocable living trusts. We will unravel Medicaid myths associated with nursing homes
& focus on how families can pay for long term care without going broke. The goal for caregiving is to
give a loved one the greatest quality of care at the least cost to the family.
,

Sandy will review the Parent Care Conversations - a series of conversations important for families
(senior adults & their children) to have in order to establish a comprehensive plan for long term care
issues and needs. Topics include organizing and simplifying financial records and accounts, structuring
assets to maximize income & potential government benefits. She will also cover what professionals
should/could be involved as part of the team when long term care needs arise.

,
Annette Werner, BS, MA, CDP Certified Dementia Practitioner,
Manager Client Services, Comfort Keepers
Suddenly finding yourself responsible for the care of the person(s) who once cared for you can be a
confusing experience. How do you know what to do, and when? How do your know if you’re doing the
right thing? How do your balance the demands on your time, your emotions, and your energies?
And where do your find the resources you need.
