• "Do not love the world or the things in the
world. If anyone loves the world, the love

the world; the lust of the flesh, the lust of
All that is opposed to God

Set your mind on things above,
hand of God.Set your mind on things above, not on
things on the earth. For you died, and your life is
hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life
appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the
earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire,
and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these
things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of
disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked
when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to
put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy
language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another,
put off the old man with his deeds,
since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and
have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge
according to the image of Him who created him,"

“handiwork of God”
   (Psalm 19:1ff)
               Matthew 6:24
• “No one can serve two masters” for either
  "No                       masters;
he will hate the one and love the other, or
else he will be loyal to the one and despise
the other. You cannot serve God and
  mammon."

             Who do we love?

        The World? God?
  WE MUST EXERCISE PURITY
• (Proverbs 4:23) “Keep your heart with all
diligence, for out of it spring the issues
  of life.”
• (Matthew 5:8) “Blessed are the pure in
heart, for they shall see God.”
  WE MUST EXERCISE PURITY
• (Philippians 4:8) "Finally, brethren,
  whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are
  just, whatever things are pure,
  whatever things are lovely, whatever
things are of good report, if there is any
virtue and if there is anything
  praiseworthy; meditate on these
  things."
  OUR SPEECH MUST BE PURE
• (Matthew 12:34-37) "Brood of vipers! How
can you, being evil, speak good things?
For out of the abundance of the heart the
mouth speaks. A good man out of the
good treasure of his heart brings forth
good things, and an evil man out of the
evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I
say to you that for every idle word men
may speak, they will give account of it in
the day of judgment. For by your words
you will be justified, and by your words
  you will be condemned."
 OUR SPEECH MUST BE PURE
• (Ephesians 4:29) "Let no corrupt word
proceed out of your mouth, but what is
good for necessary edification, that it
may impart grace to the hearers."
  OUR DRESS MUST BE PURE
• (1 Timothy 2:8-10) "I desire therefore
that the men pray everywhere, lifting up
  holy hands, without wrath and
doubting; in like manner also, that the
  women adorn themselves in modest
  apparel, with propriety and moderation,
not with braided hair or gold or pearls
or costly clothing, but, which is proper
  for women professing godliness, with
  good works."
OUR CONDUCT MUST BE PURE
• We must live lives of purity.
• Avoid all sexual immorality.
• Avoid dishonesty, selfishness, greed…
• Joseph, an example.
   WE MUST REALIZE THAT…
• Some things are off-limits to Christians.
• Sin is ultimately against God.
• Immorality is sin regardless of the
  circumstances.
   WE MUST GUARD AGAINST
• Placing ourselves into situations where
  we are tempted to sin.
• Letting our friends encourage us to
  compromise.
• Flirting with sin.
