Environmental Services are monitoring. Dust complaints have been dealt with

Containers on Boat Lane
Stephen Hands, Urban Vision, has sent a letter on behalf of Irlam & Cadishead
Community Committee about their concerns, but no response has been
received. It was agreed that Stephen Hands re-send the letter.
Resolved that the minutes of the previous meeting held on 15th September

Speed Tables on Lord Street
Inspection has been carried out on the speed tables on Lord Street and they
comply with regulations.

Open Forum Cadishead Leisure Centre
A request was made from mature users of the facilities that the music being
played be reduced. They have requested this numerous occasions but staff
need a ladder as the speaker is too high.

Road conditions due to Heavy Vehicles
Residents are concerned about the amount of HGV vehicles using Astley Road Martin Vickers to update at next

Police Update Chief Superintendent Kevin Mulligan informed the meeting that Irlam Police
Station will close and re-locate Irlam Fire station. The same level of service will
be given with and increase of PCSOs and police surgeries. This is due to
budget cuts but stresses there will be no reduction of services. Police will
continue to parade at Eccles then deploy to Irlam & Cadishead until the end of

Discussion took place over the consultation of the closure of Irlam police
Residents raised concerns of night responses if there is trouble in the local
public houses. Chief Superintendent Kevin Mulligan assured residents that
their will be normal police patrols with ongoing license premises checks.
There has been a reduction in crime of 15.1% in Cadishead and a 21.1%
reduction in Irlam. Dispersal Order has now ended from the end of September.
Irlam & Cadishead Recommendations from I & C Budget Sub-Group held on 1st November 2011
Budget Sub Group were approved.
Irlam & Cadishead Chris Trueblood presented to the Community Committee the outline proposals
Neighbourhood for Neighbourhood Priorities in the Irlam & Cadishead area which will be
Priorities supported by Neighbourhood Partnership Board. Discussion took place with all
Committee Members. Updates to be provided at further meetings.
Secured Partnership Chris Trueblood informed the meeting that £50k has been secured from
Funding Community Space Fund for a play space area on Silver Street through
partnership bid and funding has been secured for two small Christmas lights
schemes in Irlam & Cadishead.
Health Improvement Debbie Kemp and Katie Bates, Health Improvement Team (HIT), gave a

Parliamentary Martin Vickers informed the Committee of the proposals from central
Boundary Review government to reduce the number of Councillors all over the country and how
that would affect Salford. Under the new proposed review Salford would be
reduced from 8 constituencies to 4. Irlam & Cadishead would come under
Leigh City Council.
Salford City Council is asking for residents’ views on proposed changes to the
council’s constitution if voters in the city decide to have an elected mayor.
The constitution is a set of rules that sets out how decisions are taken at the

through this local weekly paper the questionnaire.
Council’s Website – the website will run an on-line consultation and feedback
format throughout the period of consultation.
Consult all Members of the Council – all Elected Members will be contacted
individually to seek their views on the proposals.
Salford Strategic Partnership – the wider forum membership will be contacted
directly for their views and feedback.
Questionnaires will also be placed in all four Gateway centres.

Dawn Williams, SCL, gave an overview of the Halloween Family Fun Night
held on 28th October at Prices Park over 800 people attended and thanked all
partners who supported this event.
Dawn asked for any volunteers for the Friends of Irlam & Cadishead Parks as
the group are looking for local opinions, ideas and involvement. If you have a
