							          4-Point Test-Taking Strategy Rubric
                     Kindergarten
    A performance level of “4” demonstrates a thorough use of test-taking
    strategies. This student uses appropriate strategies, which may include
    the following:
         Listening/ Speaking Skills:
               o Shows clear evidence of identifying basic story elements.
         Reading Comprehension Skills:
4              o Shows evidence of using a variety of comprehension skills by
                   correctly answering higher-level reading comprehension
                   questions.
         Problem-Solving Skills
               o Shows evidence of a thorough understanding of key concepts
                   and/or procedures.
    A performance level of “3” demonstrates a partial use of test-taking
    strategies. This student may use some appropriate strategies, including
    the following:
         Listening/Speaking Skills:
               o Shows some evidence of identifying basic story elements.
         Reading Comprehension Skills:
3              o Shows evidence of using some comprehension skills by
                   correctly answering basic and some higher-level reading
                   comprehension questions.
         Problem-Solving Skills
               o Shows evidence of partial understanding of key concepts and/or
                   procedures.
    A performance level of “2” demonstrates a limited use of test-taking
    strategies:
         Listening/Speaking Skills:
               o Shows little evidence of identifying basic story elements.
         Reading Comprehension Skills:
2              o Shows evidence of using few comprehension skills by correctly
                   answering basic reading comprehension questions.
         Problem-Solving Skills
               o Shows evidence of a limited understanding of key concepts
                   and/or procedures.

    A performance level of “1” indicates no use of test-taking strategies or
1   strategies used are ineffective.
