Here we are at the last week of term already !
It’s been a very busy term with lots of hard work and learning.

from 7.00 – 9.00p.m. at Mile-End school (Community Wing), Aberdeen.
The speakers are Lynne Loveday and Annette Davidson of Robert Gordon’s University.

2. HEALTHY SELF-ESTEEM
How can parents, teachers and therapists best support a child’s social and emotional well-being
throughout the school years and beyond ?
A meeting will be held on Saturday 21 April at the Douglas Arms Hotel, Banchory from 9.30a.m.
to 1.00p.m. The speaker, Deborah M Plummer, will give a presentation on “Healthy

     scill-deeside@tiscali.co.uk or telephone 07913 326816.

3. CURRICULUM for EXCELLENCE
The Scottish Government has published some new short films on “Curriculum for Excellence” for
parents/carers on the Engage for Education website at www.engageforeducation.org/cfefilms.
The films illustrate, in nursery/primary/secondary learners’, parents’ and teachers’ own words, the
kind of impact and benefits that CfE is having across the country.

4. VOUCHERS - TESCO & NESTLE
Once again we are collecting Tesco vouchers. Please ask family and friends to hand in vouchers
so that we can order resources for our school. The more we collect, the more our school will
     benefit !
We are also collecting Nestle box tops for books. If you or your friends have any lying around at
home we would be pleased to have them.

5. SPORTS RELIEF DAY : Friday 23 March
The Citizenship Group planned many activities for all pupils including circuits in the back park for
“run-a-mile”. A total of £183.59 was raised and a fun day was had by all.

7. SAFETY ALERT
A bracelet made of Jequirity beans has been on sale from outlets across the UK and there is a
health issue in relation to the bean if chewed. The bean contains a toxin called abrin which can
cause vomiting, diarrhoea and in extreme cases it may be fatal.
