SALES BUILDING - Championed “Local Store Marketing” Program – Worked closely with
each of 10 locations so they would be involved in their community to develop neighborhood loyalty.
This resulted in a 3% total district sales increase! And we had lots of fun doing it!

EXPENSE and LABOR REDUCTION - Introduced new Labor Scheduling Program –
Provided training for all associates on program and methods to improve quality and productivity.
Reviewed backrooms and back-stock to run most efficiently. Resulted in substantial labor savings
down to 9.25% from 11%. In this process we reduced backroom inventories to under 5%. This total
process also reduced shrink by over 20%. A true Win..Win..Win!!

CUSTOMER SERVICE - Improved “Mystery Shopper” scores – District scores improved
from an average of 86.4% to over 92% over 6 months this reduced complaints and helped Build
Sales in all locations. Customer Service is #1. This was accomplished with training and follow up.

over 1,000 employees and a staff of 23. I have also managed an 18 store region and 17 store district.

Managed all aspects for 17 retail grocery stores in Alabama and Mississippi including sales, gross,
salaries, inventories, expenses and marketing for grocery, GM/HBC, dairy, frozen, meat, seafood,
produce, bakery and deli. This was full P&L responsibility for these stores with budget of $202 million
in retail sales. Created a strong Team environment which led to a district lowest in management
turnover and very high in achievements. Mentoring created 3 promotions to district level positions.

Improved marketing, merchandising, advertising and transportation plans for five top customers in
Massillon. OH representing $155 Million in sales This made each more profitable and built long term

produce, bakery and deli. Brought on 2 new customers for $25 million in purchases and 100 locations.

Restructured total Division of 31 corporate retail stores in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri into
profitability. Turned this struggling division around which included several different formats by
implementing a program of Best Demonstrated Practices while converting 10 of these stores to a new
banner to establish consistency. Coordinated remodels and resets in each store. All projects
completed within budgeted time frame, creating positive comp sales in all stores. Total P&L
responsibility for this Division with a budget of $353 Million. Developed and trained 23 member
division team including 3 District Managers with over 1,000 employees.
