Content:
   Boys perceive writing differently than girls.
   Boys write for each other
   There’s more of an avoidance to writing from boys than from girls.
   “ The National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) writing tests in July
      2003 showed boys scoring an average of 24 points lower than girls.”
   "Writing is a skill that no student, no citizen, can do without."


Instruction/ Process:
    Boys draw verbs, girls draw nouns. Allow writers to sketch as a prewriting
       activity.
    Allow for choice, "violence"(look at this as a form of humor), and humor (satire
       and parody)


Assessment:
    Writing workshop addresses issues needed to assist boy writers.
