									Rev. Susan Veronica Rak Called as Settled Minister at The Unitarian Society, A
UU Congregation (East Brunswick NJ)

At the May 8 Special Congregational Meeting, which followed the final Service of Candidating Week,
the congregation voted to call The Reverend Susan Veronica Rak as their new Settled Minister. After
the meeting, the Minister Search Committee reached Reverend Rak with the results of the vote, and she
accepted the Call. She has been a Unitarian Universalist minister since 1995, serving as Interim
Associate Minister at Community Church in Manhattan, and Minister in Bridgeport, CT. She is
currently serving the UU congregation in Flushing, Queens as Consulting Minister. Prior to being a
minister, Susan worked professionally as a Director of Religious Education for 15 years.

Susan has two grown children. Her son Seth, a sculptor, lives in California with his wife. Her daughter
Abby is studying for her Masters in Library Science at Queens College. Susan's partner of nine years,
Dr. Mary Chinery, is Chair of the English Department at Georgian Court University in Lakewood,
NJ.

The Unitarian Society is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Susan and Mary in our community this
summer, with Susan's term of service beginning in September.
