Dear Prospective Vendor:
Thank you for expressing interest in the “Waverly Farmers Market.” Our Market is sponsored by
the Village of Waverly with leadership provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension Tioga
County and community members.
The Market will be open from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursdays beginning June 23nd and continuing
until October 13th, 2011. The Market will be located in beautiful Muldoon Park.
Muldoon Park is easily accessible off of Route 17 (future 86) from either exit 60 or 61.
Directions from Exit 61: Take left at the end of the off ramp. At the four way stop, turn left
onto Broad Street. Travel approximately one mile and turn right on to Pennsylvania Avenue. Go
two blocks and turn left onto Park Avenue. The park is on the left side.
Directions from Exit 60: Take a left at the end of the off ramp. Cross over Route 17 and take a
right at the T onto Chemung Street / 17C. Travel approximately one mile and turn right onto
Pennsylvania Ave. Go one block and turn right onto Park Avenue. The park is on the left.
Directions from North: Take SR 34 South. Turn right on Chemung Street / 17C. Travel
approximately ½ mile and turn left on Pennsylvania Ave. Go one block and turn right onto Park
Avenue. The park is on the left.
Directions from South: Take Route 220 North and follow directions from Exit 60, above.
The Market fee for a standard 10’x10’ space is $50 for the full season or $5 per week. Payment
is expected in full before the market day and/or season. All vendors must complete the attached
application before getting approval to join the market. Additional applications and information

Vendors: The Waverly Farmers Market* is open to area Farmers, Gardeners, and Craftspeople
who grow and/or produce their products locally, or their representative. (*Referred to as the
Fees: The Market fee for a standard 10'x10' space is $50 for the full season OR $5 per week.
Make checks payable to “CCE Tioga – Waverly Farmers Market.” There will be a $25 charge
for bounced checks.
Market Rules and Regulations
a. The market is open to Vendors located in Tioga County, NY and any of the
adjacent NY counties (Chemung, Schuyler, Tompkins, Cortland, Broome) and
Bradford County, PA.
b. All vendors must complete a Vendor application and receive approval to be part
of the market at least one week prior to joining the market. Vendors must receive
approval for any additional items sold that are not listed on their accepted
c. At least 50% of the produce sold by farm vendors must be grown on land owned
or rented by the farm vendor and 100% of all products sold by all vendors must be
made within New York or Pennsylvania. Farm vendors selling outside produce
must be able to verify its origin.
d. Farm vendors must complete a "Farmer Crop Plan" in order to be eligible to
accept NYS Farmer's Market Nutrition Program coupons. For assistance, please

e. Vendors who would like to offer products from another farm or craft business at
the market can do so. A Vendor Application and additional market fee will be
required if the percentage of items offered at the market from another farm or
craft business exceeds 20%.
f. Vendors must follow all required federal, state, and local laws. Health permits for
prepared foods must be obtained from the Tioga County Health Department. All
licenses, seals, permits, sales tax information, product liability, and other
requirements for sale of any items are the responsibility of the vendor. Required
information must be posted and/or on hand.
g. Vendors agree to abide by the Market Rules and Regulations.
2. At the Market
a. The Market will be open rain or shine. If the Market must close for more than two
hours due to inclement weather, the Market Manager will reimburse the weekly
b. Vendors must pay the season or weekly fee prior to setting up and may set up no
earlier than ½ hr before the market time. Vendors will set up in their designated
area only. Vendors will stay to the end of the market time unless excused by the
c. Each Vendor agrees to make his/her stand and products offered for sale as
attractive as possible. In addition, he/she agrees to keep his/her stand free of
tripping and other hazards.
d. Vendors will exhibit courtesy and cooperation to other vendors, patrons, and
visitors to the market, as well as the Market Manager.
e. Vendors may drive their vehicles into the park for setting up and taking down
their displays. No vehicles are allowed in the park during the market hours of 4 to

5. Market Committee
a. The Market Committee (represented by the Market Manager or his designee)
reserves the right to cancel the privileges of any Vendor who violates the rules
and regulations governing the market.
b. Advertising for the market will be the responsibility of the Market Committee.
Vendors choosing to advertise the Market in their advertising may do so, but are
asked to provide a copy to the Market Manager.
c. The Vendor and his/her designee at the Market shall indemnify and hold harmless
the Market Committee, the Village of Waverly, or Cornell Cooperative Extension
Tioga County and their representatives from and against any claims, demands,
causes of action or liability for injury to any person, including death, that results
from the negligent acts or omissions of the vendor, its employees, volunteers or
agents during set up, operation, and/or tear down of the Market.
