Number Collection: Your race number will be available for collection at
Race Headquarters on the day – please make sure that you arrive in plenty
Start and finish: The race will start and finish on Hell Wath Nature
Reserve, a five minute walk from Race HQ at Ripon Cricket Club. The start
will be well signposted. Please make your way to the start when instructed
by race marshals. There is no car access to Hell Wath.
The course: The race follows a one-lap, scenic, multi-terrain course of
approx. 10miles. It is an undulating route mainly on footpaths. The race
starts on Hell Wath Nature Reserve, goes up Whitcliffe Lane onto public
footpaths through Mackershaw Woods and Studley Roger Deer Park. Round
the back of Fountains Abbey & How Hill before joining Whitcliffe Lane and
onto the finish on Hell Wath Nature Reserve.
The course is not suitable for dogs, wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs. A
route map will be displayed at Race HQ on the day.
Directions: The race HQ is at Ripon Cricket Club, Studley Road, Ripon HG4
2QH. Studley Road is off the B6265 on the way out of Ripon towards Pately
Car parking: There is limited parking available at the Cricket Club.
Limited road side parking is also available on Studley Road or Mallorie Park
Changing and toilets: There are toilet and shower facilities available at
the Cricket Club.
Drinks stations: There will be two drinks station on the race route and
water available at the finish.
First Aid: There will be qualified first aid assistance on the route and at the
Race Start/Finish area.
Results: Race results will be available on both UK Results and Ripon
Race rules: The use of iPods and MP3 players is not permitted. Pease
keep to the left-hand side of the road, unless instructed otherwise by race
marshals. Failure to abide by this may result in disqualification.
Refreshments: There will be refreshments available in the Race HQ.
Cancellation: We hope cancellation will not be necessary. If it should be,
entrants will be informed as soon as possible. In the event of a late
cancellation, we will update our website and advise Stray FM (97.2FM) and
BBC Radio York (103.7FM/95.5.FM). Unfortunately, refunds will not be
possible as many of the race expenses will have been incurred.
