EQUINE:
List of supplies required by all equine students at KC 2010-2011

      Acceptable boots not made of canvas or cloth, closed-toed and closed-heeled, having a
      clear heel between ½" and 1½", with a non-slip sole (eg. paddock boots, rubber boots,
      hiking boots, work boots, or riding boots). Running shoes, sandals and crocs are not
      acceptable due to safety concerns. All staff, students and guests entering the horse barns
      or arenas or working around horses must wear appropriate footwear.
      Grooming kit consisting of curry comb, dandy brush, body brush, hoof pick, mane and tail
      comb
      Coveralls (optional)
      Safety Glasses

For all riding/coaching & horsemanship students:

      Riding helmet approved by ASTM or SEI. Helmets with the chin strap properly fastened
      must be worn by all staff and students riding on KC property at all times. A well fitting
      sleeved shirt with a collar.
      Saddle pad appropriate for discipline
      Crop or whip and riding gloves
      Breeches and tall boots. Half chaps or full chaps (western) may be worn with paddock
      boots
      Tack trunk large enough to hold all your equipment (maximum 3 feet wide X 3 feet High X 5
      feet long)

For Second year diploma students:
Second year diploma students must provide a thermometer, stethoscope, and weight tape
For First-year BBRM students:
      2 stable bandages and cottons
      2 polos bandages
      a complete grooming kit (curry comb, dandy brush, body brush, hoof pick, mane
      comb, towel etc)
      a tail bandage
      a veterinary thermometer
      lab coat
      goggles

Be sure to label your supplies.

FOOD PROGRAM –TWO YEAR DIPLOMA:
Students are required to be properly dressed at all times when working with food. Proper lab
dress is compulsory for the second week of classes for admittance to the labs.

These items are needed for all in lab food preparation Jr & Sr Courses.
      2 white scrubs
      1 white cook's apron
      1 white lab coat
    1 pair white or black closed-toe shoes, rubber soles, non-slip. (To be worn in lab only, not
    outside)
    (hair net will be provided)
    Knives:
    Boning knife-
    Cook's knife
    Paring knife
    Peeler

    Dress for the front of the house for catering events and the Class Act Café:
    Black Dress Pants
    White short or long sleeved shirt
    black rubber soled shoes (can be the same ones used in the lab)

INDUSTRIAL WELDING AND FABRICATION:
 IWF Students will be supplied with the following Tools & Equipment:
    Welding Helmet
    Cutting Shield
    Welding Coat
    Welding Gloves
    Chipping Hammer
    Wire Brush
    Pail
 IWF Students need to supply themselves with the following:
    ANSI / CSA Certified High Cut Work Boots (steel toe, steel shank)
    ANSI / CSA Certified Safety Glasses that wrap around the face and/or have side shields
    Pliers
    Side Cutters
    Vise Grips
    Tri-Square
    Combined Metric/Standard Tape Measure
    Hearing Protection – (preferably earplugs as they fit easily under welding helmet)
