Mrs. Winnie Gooch, age 90, of Dahlonega, GA died Tuesday October 13, 2009 at the Chestatee
Regional Hospital in Dahlonega.

Mrs. Gooch was born in Lumpkin County May 17, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of
Lumpkin County. She was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
She was retired from the Burlington Pinetree Plant in Dahlonega and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Gooch was the daughter of the late Monroe and Cordelia Walker Caldwell and was also
preceded in death by her husband, Pat Gooch; son, Robert Gooch, great-grandson, William
Wells; brothers, Henley, Herman, Pool, and Buck Caldwell; and sister, Fay Gooch.

She is survived by Sons and daughters-in-law, Loyd Pool and Sylvia Gooch, Dahlonega, GA,
Dean and Joyce Gooch, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and William
Woodward, Dahlonega, GA; sisters-in-law, Ruth Caldwell, Mattie Caldwell, and Myrtle Russell.
Grandchildren, Sherri Wells, Carolyn Cummings, Donna Edmondson, Evelyn Powell, Rachel
Kephart, Bradley Gerrells, Larry Gooch, Kevin Dockery; 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-
grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a large number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gooch are scheduled for 11 AM Friday October 16, 2009 at the
Yahoola Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Neal Head, and Rev. Dean Bryant
officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home all day on Thursday starting at 11 AM

Mrs. Viola “Vi” Brady Edge of Dahlonega, GA died Tuesday October 13, 2009 at the Chestatee Regional
Hospital in Dahlonega, GA.

Mrs. Edge was born in White County and was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was a member of
Corinth Baptist Church in Gainesville.

She was a charter member of the Chestatee Regional Hospital Auxiliary where she served as Sunshine
Chairman for years. She served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross where she worked in plastics for
over twenty years and was recognized for outstanding contribution to service. She was also a member of
Lumpkin County Educators and served on the Sunshine Committee.

Mrs. Edge was the daughter of the late Asa Brady and Pearl Stovall Brady. She is survived by her husband, J.D.
Edge, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Lucille B. Hefner, Cleveland, GA; nephews and wives, Stanley and Lanora
Hefner, Cleveland, GA, Ben and Diane Brady, Cleveland, GA; niece and husband, Ann and Doug McMahan,
Gainesville, GA. Several other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edge are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday October 15, 2009 at the Banister Funeral
Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev Michael Kirby will officiate. Interment will follow in the Philippi Baptist
Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 PM until 9 PM

Mrs. Clemon Woody, age 89, of Cleveland, GA died October 12, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia
Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Mrs. Woody was born in Fannin County, GA March 2, 1920. She had lived in Cleveland since
1986 and was a former resident of Lumpkin County. She was a homemaker and was a member
of Freedom Baptist Church in Dahlonega, GA.

She was the daughter of the late Lester and Ina Woody Wilson and was also preceded in death
by her husband, Joe Pink Woody; and brothers, Britt Wilson, Worth Wilson, and Everett
Wilson.

Mrs. Woody is survived by her daughter, Dianne Palmer, Cleveland, GA; grandson and wife,
Rex and Amy Palmer, Cleveland, GA. Several other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Woody are scheduled for 11 AM Tuesday October 20, 2009 at the
Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Charles Jenkins will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Stockhill Cemetery in Fannin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 PM until 8 PM.

Mrs. Dora Bell Caldwell, age 93, of Dahlonega, GA died Monday October 12, 2009 at her
residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Caldwell born in Union County, GA September 19, 1916 and was a lifelong resident of
Lumpkin County, and was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church. Mrs. Caldwell worked several
years at Gold City Convalescent Center and was also a homemaker and avid gardener.

Dora was the daughter of the late Joe and Cora Ward Gooch and was also preceded in death by
her husband of 53 years, Walter Caldwell; daughter, Joyce Caldwell; grandchildren, Phil
Manley and Gail Moses; and great-grandchild, Taylor Caldwell; brothers, Homer Gooch, Carl
Gooch, Clayton Gooch, Dock Gooch, and Pat Gooch.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Berta Mae and Paul Manley, Jean and Travis
Adams, all of Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Vivian Caldwell, Charles and
Kathy Caldwell, all of Dahlonega; granddaughters, Vonda Moses Waldrip and Leshia Adams;
grandsons, Mike Manley, Ricky Moses, Trent Adams, Chad Caldwell, Andy Caldwell, Chuck
Caldwell, and Darian Caldwell; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters,
Mattie Caldwell, Dahlonega, GA and Myrtle Russell, Gainesville, GA. She is also survived by a
host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Caldwell are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday October 14, 2009 at the
Yahoola Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Dean Bryant, and Rev. Neal Head
will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Caldwell will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 1:30 PM until 2 PM.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home all day on Tuesday starting at 11 AM.

Mr. Jewell Edward Norrell, age 69 Dahlonega, GA died Thursday October 8, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Norrell was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was retired from North Georgia College and State
University. Jewell was a great husband, father and grandfather, and he was loved by everyone.

He was the son of the late Lewis Harold Norrell and Cindy Woody Norrell.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Reeves Norrell, Dahlonega, GA; daughters and sons in law, Linda and
James Myers, Murrayville, GA,. Brenda Head and Charles Gilstrap, Murrayville, GA; son, Jewell Edward
Norrell Jr., Dahlonega, GA; sons and daughters in law, David and Connie Norrell, Dawsonville, GA, Frank and
Darlene Norrell, Estill Springs, Tennessee; sister, Kathleen Norrell, Dahlonega, GA; brothers and sisters in law,
Roy and Hazel Norrell, Dahlonega, GA, Walter and Barbara Norrell, Dahlonega, GA; very special friend,
Frankie Abercrombie; Dahlonega, GA. 8 Grandchildren,11 Great Grandchildren, and a large number of other
relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Norrell are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday October 11, 2009 at the Banister Funeral

Interment will follow in Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

 Mr. George “Pep” Cantrell, age 66 of Murrayville, Ga. died Monday October 5, 2009 at Chestatee Regional
Hospital in Dahlonega.

   Mr. Cantrell was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Dahlonega Church of God. He was a loving father,
grandfather and friend.

  He was the son of the late Travis Gordon Cantrell and Georgia Ann Wood Cantrell. He was also preceded in
death by a daughter; Jody Payne. Brother; Joseph Cantrell. Sisters; Peggy Martin and Lois Morgan.

Mr. Cantrell is survived by is fiancée; Margaret Harmon, Murryaville, Ga Ex-wife; Janice Cantrell, Dahlonega. .
 Daughters and son in laws; Twana and James. B. Whitey, Dawsonville. Tina and John Tyler, Toccoa, Ga. Son
 and Daughter in law: George F. Jr. and Audrey Cantrell, Cumming, Ga. Sons; Joey Lazos, Gwinnett County,
    Ernie Lazos, Fort Reily, Kansas. Sister; Mary Strickland, Dawsonville, Ga. Brothers; Ronald Cantrell,
Dahlonega, Ga. Donald Cantrell, Suches, Ga. 10 Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Cantrell are scheduled for 2:00pm Friday October 9, 2009 at the Dahlonega Church of
God. Pastor Larry Henry and Rev. Hulet Smith will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dahlonega Memorial Park with Military honors.

October 4, 2009

    Larry Leon McCoskey, age 63 of Cleveland, passed away October 4, 2009 following an
   extended illness.

Larry was born and raised in Indiana and a graduate of Purdue University. Having served in the
US Army, he was also a Vietnam veteran.

 Larry was a retail manager for many years and lived in Dahlonega since 1999 until moving to
Cleveland in 2008. He was a member of the Dahlonega United Methodist Church.

Larry is survive by his loving wife, Leslie McCoskey of Cleveland. Mother; Vivian Jean Fowler
   of Garden Grove, Ca. Sister Jerry Straley and husband Gary of Peoga, In; Sister Grace Ann
Boyer and husband Kerry of Riverside, Ca; Sister; Susan Russell of Anaheim, Ca.; stepmother;
    Lousie McCoskey of Noblesville, In; stepson and daughter in law; Joe Richards and Amy
 Bowman-Richards of Norcross, Ga.; stepsister; Brenday Spencer of Jefferson, Ky; stepbrother;
       Kenny Highers of Anderson, In; stepbrother; Denny Highers of Noblesville, In; and
stepdaughter; Abby Conley and husband Tony of Groveland, Fl. Larry is also survived by many
other relative and wonderful friends.

   Larry was preceded in death by his father Perry L. McCoskey; Brothers; Herbert Stafford,
Cleon Stafford and stepsister Shirley Wise.

 A Celebration of life will be held for Larry at the Dahlonega United Methodist Church, South
Chestatee St. campus on Friday October 9, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Jeff Ross officiating. There
      will be a memorial service in Sheridan, In. Memorial contributions may be sent to:
 Compassionate Hospice of North Georgia, 1435 Haw Creek Circle, Suite 402, Cumming, Ga.
30041.

October 4, 2009

 Mr. Daniel Henry Ehlers, age 73 of Dahlonega, Ga. died Sunday October 4, 2009 at Northeast
Georgia Medical Center.

He was an Elder with Jehovah’s Witnesses and worked at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s
 Witnesses. He served as a traveling overseer and currently was a circuit assembly overseer. He
  was a member of the Conyers assembly hall corporation. He did volunteer work in building
 Kingdom hall’s in Georgia and Alabama and did a lot of disaster relief work. He and his wife
June had been married for 43 years. To Support his ministry in his later years, he worked as an
exterminator.

                    In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tom Harris for traveling
   expenses for John A. Williams from Patterson, New York watch tower education center.

Mr. Ehlers was born in Shiner, Texas to the late Henry F. Ehlers and Helena Teitjen Ehlers. He
was also preceded in death by 3 Sisters and 1 Brother.

   Mr. Ehlers is survived by his wife; June Ehlers, Dahlonega. Sister; Dorothea Pilot, Shiner,
 Texas. Niece; Sharon Delgado, Houston, Texas. Nephew; Royce Pilot, Shiner, Texas. Several
other Nieces and Nephews also survive.

  Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday October 7, 2009 at the Banister
Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. John A. Williams from Patterson, New York will officiate.

   The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home 1 hour prior to the service on
Wednesday.

 Michael Claude Gilstrap, age 45, of Dahlongea, Ga. died Friday October 2, 2009 at Northside
Hospital Forsyth in Cumming.
               Michael was a grading contractor. He was a deacon and member of Bethlehem
 Baptist Church. He was a member of the Blue mountain Masonic lodge and Lumpkin county
Gideons and was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin county.

Mr. Gilstrap is survived by his wife; Debbie Ray Gilstrap, Dahlonega. Daughter and son in law;
Jessica and Chris Fields, Dahlonega. Daughter; Emma Gilstrap, Dahlonega. Son and Daughter
  in law; Michael Jr. and Crystal Gilstrap, Dahlonega. Parents: Claude and Nancy Gilstrap;
 Dahlongea. Sister and Brother in law: Tina and Chad Crow, Dahlonega. Brother and Sister in
  law; William and Michelle Gilstrap; Dahlonega. Grandchildren; Jaden Gilstrap and Dalton
   Miles. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

  Funeral Services for Mr. Gilstrap are scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday October 5, 2009 at the
Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dahlonega. Rev. Michael Rodgers, Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev.
Dean Bryant will officiate.

  Interment will follow in the Bethlehem/Jones Chapel Cemetery with Masonic graveside
  rites.

Mr. Danny Shane Woody, age 36, of Suches, GA died Saturday September 26, 2009 at his
residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Woody was a native and lifelong resident of Union County and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his parents, Lee and Joan Roper Woody of Suches, GA; son, Colby Woody,
Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Lydia Woody, Blairsville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joann
and Billy Zeger, Flat Rock, AL, Stacy and Randy Harkins, Blairsville, GA; brother and sister-
in-law, Ronnie and Doris Woody, Suches, GA. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM Monday September 28, 2009 at the Banister Funeral
Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. Josh Mulkey officiating.

Interment will follow in the Woody Cemetery in Union County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 PM until 9 PM and again
on Monday until the time of service.

Mr. Jeremy Carl Wehunt, age 25, of Dahlonega, GA died Friday September 25, 2009 from
injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Lumpkin County.

Many people in the community first met Jeremy at Charlie’s Grocery. As a little boy, he would
stand on a Coke crate in his Grandpa’s store and run the cash register.

Jeremy became interested in motorcycle racing while he was in elementary school and his
passion for racing grew as each year passed..

During his high school years, he played Parks and Rec softball and was a member of the
Bethlehem Baptist Church softball team. Jeremy also spent many hours as a cyclist.

In high school Jeremy developed an interest in cabinet making and later pursued a career in the
cabinet industry where he used his God-given talents.

Seven years ago, Jeremy met Amber, the love of his life, and in a beautiful ceremony on Oct. 4,
2008 they became husband and wife. Jeremy and Amber’s love for each other was so strong and
so deep words cannot express what they shared.

Jeremy’s love for life was contagious and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone
at a moment’s notice. Jeremy loved everyone he met and everyone who knew him loved him.
The world’s loss is definitely Heaven’s gain.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Pat Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Amber Wehunt, Dahlonega, GA; mother and stepfather, Denise and
Skipper Bryant, Dahlonega, GA; father and stepmother, Jimmy and Amy Wehunt, Oakwood,
GA; brother, Dalton Wehunt, Oakwood, GA; sisters, Jorden Wehunt, Oakwood, GA, Emily
Bryant, Dahlonega, GA; grandparents, Terrell and Nell Holtzclaw, Dahlonega, GA, Charlie and
Robbie Wehunt, Dahlonega, GA, Bobby and Ann Harbin, Gainesville, GA, mother-in-law and

Interment will follow in the Bethlehem/Jones Chapel Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening starting at 7 PM and
again on Sunday until the time of service.

Mr. Willie Richard Bagby, age 57, of Jasper, GA and formerly of Forsyth County, GA died
Friday September 25, 2009 at the Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Mr. Bagby was born in Forsyth County, GA Jan. 17, 1952. He had lived in Pickens County for
the past several months. He worked for AT&T for many years and was of the Baptist faith. He
was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was the son of the late Luther and Myrtle Dover Bagby and was also preceded in death by a
brother, Charles Bagby.

Mr. Bagby is survived by his son, Wiliam Bagby of Dawsonville, GA; stepson, Robby
McGinnis of Cumming, GA; brother, Walter Bagby of Dawsonville, GA; sisters, Barbara
Bagby of Atlanta, GA, Pam and Harold Sullens, of Gainesville, GA, Vickie and Brad Ellison of
Gainesville, GA; nieces and nephews, Luke and Amy Bagby, Chris Bagby, Ricky Jones,
Kimesha Goldsmith, Crystal Garcia, Keynan Braswell, and Latosha Sullens; great-nieces and
great-nephews, Chase, Cameron, and Chloe Bagby, Michaela Bagby, Destiny Ellison, Dustin
Lawson, Mia and Emily Garcia. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Bagby are scheduled for 11 AM Monday September 28, 2009 at the
Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Ronnie Sosebee will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Forsyth County with military
honors provided by the Veterans Alliance Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Saturday starting at
6 PM and all day on Sunday.
