1. From this point forward, the only students allowed on the music wing are music students.
Other students should not enter or exit through that hallway.
2. High School Volleyball Tryouts will be held on April 23 and 24, 2012. Times will be from
4:30-7:00 on Monday and Tuesday. Tryouts will take place in the gymnasium at Clinton
High School. 8th - 11th Graders only. Tryout Forms can be picked up in the office. You
must have a completed form to tryout.
3. CARS FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER: The Anchor Club car show on Saturday was a huge
success! We had 29 vehicles that showed up and raised a little over $700 for Batson
Children's Hospital. Thank you to all the Anchors who donated items and who volunteered
their time. Thank you to student council for donating sweets to sell at the car show. And
congrats to our very own Dillon Pankey for receiving the 2nd place trophy in the car
category for his '69 Camaro!
4. We are going to do a second order of the "What Cancer cannot Do" t-shirts! They are $10
and available in pink, baby blue, yellow, lime green, and black. If you are interested, see Ms.
5. If you’re interested in singing, rapping, acting or working behind the scene in the creative
liberal arts arena, please join FBLA today during homeroom in the cafeteria as we host a
meeting where we will introduce Teen Jammz to CHS! The guest speaker will be Mr. Ben
Minnifield, Chief Visionary Advisor of the Teen Jammz Organization.
6. Cheer Try outs-Thursday March 29th at 3:30, is the absolute deadline to sign up for cheer
tryouts. Information can be picked up outside of room W110.
7. The LAST DAY TO ORDER YEARBOOKS IS Friday MARCH 30 --- THE END OF 8TH

9. NHS students: There are SEVERAL service projects listed in W207. If you have not
completed your service hours, please come by to sign up for one of these projects in the
10. Do you have books at home that you read when you were little? Now you can give the gift of
reading to Clinton's little Arrows by donating to the Clinton Reads project! Donated books
will be sorted by reading level and given away to our K-5 students at the end of the school
year. Books can be dropped off in the Clinton Reads boxes located on the English hall. Need

11. The Clinton Indoor Percussion Ensemble and Winter guards will be having a "Home Show"
for the Clinton community on Friday, March 30th at 7:00 pm in the Clinton High School
Gymnasium. Tickets will be $5 and will be sold at the door.
12. Mu Alpha Theta --The 17 students that signed up to go to the state need to pay for the
competition. As of now only 3 students have paid. The payment is 25 dollars. You can pay
in room W205 between classes and before or after school. State competition is April 1-2
13. Students interested in Crown Club may pick up an application in the front office.

14. Student All Sports Pass - Students may purchase an All-Sports Pass for $50. This is
good for ANY HOME sporting event this year for sports in the CPSD. Purchases can be
made at the front office.
15. SENIOR ADS! DID YOU FORGET TO BUY A SENIOR AD? If so, the Yearbook staff has
extra ad pages that need to be filled. Come to Mrs. Burris in W101 to purchase your ad
ASAP - These will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.
SENIORS: The Mississippi Gamma chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at the University of Southern
Mississippi is offering multiple scholarships to incoming males at USM. The Balanced Man
Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 scholarship offered to one student that exemplifies the principles
of the Balanced Man. Also, there is a $250 Sound Mind and a $250 Sound Body scholarship. The
scholarships are meant to recognize men that have achieved balance and excellence in high school
and in their community. Deadline is June 15, 2012. The scholarship application can be completed
online at usmsigep.com/scholarship, or you can pick up an application in the Counselor’s Office.
SENIORS: The National Society of Collegiate Scholars Emerging Scholars Program will award
$1000.00 scholarship to high-achieving high school seniors who plan to enroll at an accredited
university or community college. Requirements are a 3.5 or higher GPA, a 25 or higher on the AC, and
a letter of recommendation. For an application visit the website:

Seniors: Thinking of a future in music? Experience a day of music and audition at Delta State

SENIORS-The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson is now accepting applications for 2012
Scholarships. Ten scholarships in various categories are available. These scholarships and eligibility
criteria can be viewed at www.cfgj.org
SENIORS-The Arts Council of Clinton is offering three scholarships in the amounts of $1000, $750
and $500. Seniors may enter in the categories of 1) Visual Arts, 2) Dance, 3) Musical Performance,
4) Literary, 5) Dramatic Performance. A portfolio is required. Applications are in the counselor's
office. Deadline is March 28.
SENIORS-The Clinton Association of Educators is offering a scholarship to a senior who plans to
major in education. Students must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Applications are available in the
Counselors office. Deadline is April 16th.
SENIORS.... If your scholarship or admissions applications require a recommendation from your
counselor, you must provide your counselor with a resume and fill out the orange sheet in the
counselor's office. We require a 5 day notice prior to deadline. We can not meet your deadline
without this information.

Clinton Rotary Club Scholarship
The Clinton Rotary Club is awarding two (2) $1,000 scholarships to 2012 high school graduates.
College scholarships are given by our club to deserving Clinton Seniors based on examples of
leadership, community involvement, academic achievement and financial need.
Application available in the CHS Career Center
Criteria: Applicants must live in Clinton and plan to attend college within the State Mississippi.

Pi Kappa Alpha at Mississippi State University is offering the Pi Kappa Alpha Gentleman
Scholarship, a $1000.00 scholarship for MSU entering freshman. The scholarship will be awarded to
a young man or woman that has shown success as a scholar, leader and athlete. There is no obligation
to join Pi Kappa Alpha but all finalists will be obligated to participate in an interview and attend the
award reception. Deadline is May 4th. Applications are in the counselor's office.

Mississippi Municipal League annually sponsors 3 $2000 scholarships:
1. MML General Scholarship that is open to all high school seniors who are planning on attending
college in MS.
2. MML Limited Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of employees or elected officials
of MS municipalities and to high school seniors working part-time for a member of the MS Municipal
