The role of information technology in defeating the Arab regimes
                   Facebook 2-0 Arab presidents (2011)
The online social networks played main role in Egypt’s demonstration in January
2011. Facebook and Twitter were the basic tools used in the demonstrations.
Facebook is well spread in Egypt since 2008. Its popularity is based on political events
too when it was used for a very wide invitation to a strike in all Egypt on April 6,
2008, which was a very successful invitation. After that a group of political activists
formed and entitled “6th April Youth Movement”. I think Twitter was the biggest
winner because it started to be well known in Egypt during January events.
By an inspector eyes; we can define three main roles of Facebook and Twitter in
January demonstrations; Call for demonstrations, dissemination of demonstrations

Members of Facebook played a great role in information flow and circulation
during the demonstrations days. The Members got their posts from different
resources, like; Facebook pages, news web sites, TV channels, and the field itself. The
status of members changed every minute. The Egyptians response to Facebook was
unprecedented phenomenon.
Although all practices of the Egyptian and Tunisian governments were against the
usage of internet and technology in general, the technology was an effective factor in
the revolution and defeated two of the strongest regimes in the Arab countries.

Thousands of years ago, ancient Egyptians left evidence of their love for food.
Well-preserved wall paintings and carvings have been discovered on tombs and temples
.Many of these ancient foods are still eaten in Egyptian households today. Peas,
beans, cucumbers, dates, figs, and grapes were popular fruits and vegetables in
ancient times. In Egypt, most establishments use native ingredients and will offer
fruits and vegetables in season. Many of the smaller, Egyptian-style restaurants
specialize in basic meat and bean dishes. For most Egyptians, meat is a luxury used in
small amounts, cooked with vegetables, and served with or over rice..

 "
It is clear that our environment is exposed to a great danger because the climate
has become more warming than before .All of us must co-operate and stand as a one
man to put and end to this serious problem which threatens our life .For example we
must reduce the amount of chemicals , carbon dioxide and energy . We can also grow
plants because the trees purify the air through getting carbon dioxide and emitting
oxygen necessary for life. In brief , we must exert great efforts to solve this
problem which threatens our life on and to lead a happy life free from problems.

14-How to encourage our local products
Allah has gifted Egypt many natural resources which we can make good use to

should encourage local projects to take part in the international competition; Egypt
can encourage the Arab and foreign investors to set up projects in

15- "A building in your town or city you think tourists would enjoy visiting
I think the pyramids are the most famous buildings of the historic places in the
world .They are one of the seven wonders in the world .They show the greatness of
our great ancestors .The pharaohs built them to burry their dead kings .They built
them by using large stones and rocks which withstand all the natural disasters like
the earthquakes. A lot of tourists from all over the world come to admire our these
ancient building. To shed more light on that , we can say that our ancient Egyptians
were great people because they left us great things which make all people from all
over the world admire . To sum up I can say that our duty as Egyptians to keep these
buildings either ancient or modern to enable our coming generations to enjoy them .

16 " Describing a place that is off the beaten track "
Most travellers to Egypt visit the famous sites in Cairo and Upper Egypt but Egypt
has many other interesting historical places which are off the beaten track . One of
these places is Sinai. Travellers once described Sinai as “thirty thousand square
kilometres of nothing.” In fact, Sinai has some of the most beautiful landscape in
Egypt. It is also home to wildlife such as the fox and the wolf, just as it was 3,000
years ago. The monastery of St Catherine is located in the centre of Sinai. Built in

How are you . I write this e-mail to tell you why tourism important to my town Tourism
plays an important role in our life. It is the main source of our national income and hard currency.
Many families depend greatly on tourism because it creates a lot of jobs opportunities for them .We
are lucky because Egypt has many historic places ,fine weather and wonderful beaches which
attract tourists from all over the world . Therefore we should do our best to attract more tourists.
We should build large hotels, establish beautiful gardens and pave the roads. We should provide
the tourists with security and safety to encourage them to come again . best wishes

There are many charitable organizations all over the world. Some of them are multinational
while the others are local. One of the international charities is called The Chain of Hope. It does

operations on children with heart diseases. In this organization, children from poor countries are
treated free of charge.
In my opinion, these organizations are more important than ever as we have more and more
problems with diseases and food shortages, etc. So the government and the individual should play a
role to keep them. People should give more money to these charities to let them help more people.
Also, the government should facilitate their work without any red tape.

2-Money is the root of every evil
Money is a means that can be used well or badly, so I'd rather say that the love of money is the
root of all evil, not money itself. Because of money, people steal, kill and bribe. Also, people may
envy each other and hate each other. Not a day passes without hearing about a bank robbery or a
murder. The reason why such crimes are committed is usually the desire to make a fortune without
exerting great efforts.
Moreover, the wars that sweep the world are motivated by financial reasons. Even the civil
wars which take place between people within the same country are based on financial affairs.
In brief, we can say that although having a fortune is a blessing from God, it can be a curse if
we misuse it.

My dream house won't be in the centre of the city, but it will be on the outskirts to be far from
the noise and traffic. It will be in a beautiful location may be high up on a hill, overlooking a lake or
some gardens, and every room will have a balcony so that I can enjoy the view. Also, I will plant
trees, vegetables and fruit in its garden. In addition, it will have a garage for my car and the cars of
my visitors.
My dream house will be very high-tech and I will be able to control, for example, the
temperature of the rooms, or switch the TV on or off by remote control. It will also be well insulated
so that in winter it will be warm and in summer it will be cool. It will be a detached house, but I
hope to have friendly neighbours.

                                      4-Global Warming
Most people now accept the fact that the world's climate is changing. The carbon dioxide in
the atmosphere is increasing mainly because we burn fuels such as oil and gas. The fact that we
continue to destroy the rainforests (which take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen) makes
matters worse.
How will global warming affect the world? It is now known that the ice at the Arctic and the
Antarctic is melting. If this continues, sea levels will rise and some parts of the world will be flooded,
making many people homeless.

So what can be done? Countries must stop destroying the rainforests and produce less carbon
dioxide. And, as individuals, we must all reduce the carbon dioxide we produce. This can be done by
people using cars only when they have to or by turning down air conditioning in the summer.

Mobile phones are of great importance to many people in society from a businessman to an
ordinary man. They can't do without. In time of emergency people need to make a phone call asking
for the ambulance help. In travel, mobiles are necessary to tell other people how you are.
But some people have bad habits when using mobiles. They sometimes disturb people indoors
unnecessarily at midnight. While driving, they may cause death, so the government should pass
strict laws against using them while driving. However, doctors warn people of its drawbacks
exposing themselves to the side effects of electromagnetic waves causing cancer. So people should
use mobile phones more wisely and quietly.

7-A book that you have enjoyed reading
I read a wonderful book, written by Charles Dickens. Its title is Oliver Twist. Dickens wrote it
in the nineteenth century. I read it last week in the school library. It is about a child who had to live
in a workhouse because his mother died when he was born. In this story, Dickens shows the dark
side of life in London in the nineteenth century. He describes the life of child workers and the life in
the workhouse where poor people were sent to live and work. The details of characters and the
workhouse are wonderful. The characters are Oliver Twist, some members of a gang and Mr.
Brownlow who will adopt Oliver. I liked this book very much as it has a moral. The moral is "Good
people are rewarded while bad people are punished."
Really, this is my favourite book, so I will definitely read it again.

8-How you think people could protect the environment in your town
                             or city ?
It is clear that our environment is exposed to a great danger because the climate has become
more warming than before. All of us must co-operate and stand as a one man to put and end to this
serious problem which threatens our life. For example we must reduce the amount of chemicals,
carbon dioxide and energy. We can also grow plants because the trees purify the air through getting
carbon dioxide and emitting oxygen necessary for life.
In brief, we must exert great efforts to solve this problem which threatens our life on and to
lead a happy life free from problems.

9-How has the computer changed our life?
The Computer, the genie of the present that can do anything in no time, has changed our life a
great deal. Before the advent of the computer, offices were packed with clerks hidden behind piles
of files and heaps of paper doing much work. That was time consuming and exhausting. It was
nearly impossible to look for a piece of information in all those heaps and piles. Now, there is only
one person in a clean office sitting at his computer doing all that work and getting any piece of
information in no time. Nowadays, it is customary to see a child sitting at his home computer using
it efficiently. It has been added to our sets in our homes. Many young people are keen on learning
using it and buying one.
The computer has invaded all walks of our life. In medicine, it helps doctors to diagnose illness
and injuries; in space field, it plays a vital role in guiding space ships and reporting every step of a
space journey. In the field of education, it is used effectively to enhance the teaching/learning
process. It helps with learning foreign languages and promotes independence learning. Even in the
field of entertainment it adds much. The environment itself has benefited from the computer as it
has saved us the trouble of using paper that consumes too many trees. I dare say that the computer
is the worthy civilization that man has achieved.
10-A future job
I'm interested in archeology and meeting tourists. I often go to the pyramids to speak to
tourists there. I am looking forward to be a tourist guide after I graduate. This will give me a capital
chance to meet tourists and spend much time with them. I know this means that I should master at
least one foreign language and have an adequate knowledge of other languages; so I try hard to
learn English well. I learn as many sentences as possible. My hope is to study tourism in the
university, so I study hard to get the marks needed for that. I am determined to reach that goal and
try hard to overcome anything that may hinder it.
11-The Internet
The internet can be compared to atomic power. It is liable to be constructive or destructive.
It's man who is responsible for its effects. The internet is one of the latest miracles of our age. If
used properly, it will contribute much to our progress. It helps much in information revolution. It
enables us to be aware of anything developed in different fields: technology, thought, ways of living,

                                                  82
                                                                               Mr.Gawad 01002389716
               ‫مستر جواد الشافعى‬ ‫مراجعة الفرصة االخيرة‬
and so on. It can help pupils understand their lessons better. It enables us to write to other people
electronically and get in touch with many people all over the world. It enables researchers to find
out about the latest discoveries and findings of man, and in this way helps them to carry on what
has been achieved.
It's regrettable that some young men nowadays misuse this great miracle. They use it just to
play and find out about the latest fashions in useless fields. What makes matters worse is that they
use it to destroy their morals and against their traditions. Such people should feel ashamed of
themselves for using such a great invention in that trivial way. They should be aware of the dangers
of what they do and put it right. They should make use of it to deepen and widen their knowledge
and for their studies to be good members in their society.
12-How trade has changed our life
Trade has changed our life a lot. Before trade people wore different clothes and ate different
foods. Thanks to trade, there is no longer much difference between life styles as it used to be. We
may wear the same clothes that are worn by people in China or France for instance. We have the
same sets that people everywhere have. Trade has helped unify the world. Even ideas have been
affected by trade. People meet and communicate a lot for trade; they think nearly in the same way.
It has contributed to our welfare as it has provided us with different items that make our life
comfortable.
Trade is affected by what is happening in the world; it flourishes in peace time and declines
in times of wars and disputes. Also quality has a tangible effect on it.
Sport is an important part of today's society and plays a large role in people's lives. Now more
than ever sport event dominate headlines and athletes have become national heroes.
From a social standpoint, sport plays a positive role in uniting people from different social
backgrounds in support of their favourite team. However, just as sport unites people so it can divide
them, as is often demonstrated by crowd violence at football matches.
Sport is also an important part of every child's schooling, as it plays a big role in their physical
and mental development. It teaches children how to work as part of a team and co-operate with
others, while at the same time improving their physical condition. The only drawback to this is that
children who are less able to perform well in sports are likely to feel in adequate in comparison to
their more gifted classmates, which may affect their self-confidence
13-Sport and World Competitions
Our motto “ A sound mind is in a sound body.” Is true now, as it was true in
the ages of ancient Greece and Rome. We all realize the important role sport plays in
promoting understanding among nations. When the peoples of the world compete,
they come to mix together, understand the customs and traditions of each other,
realize what people like or dislike and above all endeavour to beat each other in
sports and not in war. They come to play against each other in peace and harmony.
Also sport competitions are a good chance to promote tourism. When sportsmen go to
a country, they usually visit its places of interest. They take souvenirs to remind them
of such places and let them talk about that country objectively.
