Electronic Submission Guide for Students
Your assignment must include your student number in the top-right side
of the header on each page.
DO NOT include your name anywhere on the assignment.
Please disable 'track changes' or any 'comment' features in MS Word
documents before submitting them.
To submit your assignment:
Submission is done via the subject page on LMS/Blackboard.
You can access the LMS subject page at http://www.lms.unimelb.edu.au
OR
from the LLB website subject page
Enter your log in details to access the LMS
Here’s an example of what an LMS subject page will look like:
Click on the link on the left hand side menu bar of the LMS subject page
that says ‘Online Submission of Assignments’ then click the ‘Assignment
Tool’ link.
This will take you to a webpage that looks like the one below and includes
the relevant assignment information for your subject. If at any stage of the
process you are prompted to enter your stream please do so, if known,
otherwise click ‘Continue’.
Click ‘Submit Assignment’ for the relevant assessment item.

After clicking ‘Submit Assignment’ the following webpage will appear:
Having read the conditions, you will need to tick both check-boxes to
confirm that you have included your “student number, subject code and
subject name, and assignment name on the first page of their assignment”
(Do not include your name in your assignment document).
Click ‘Continue’ to confirm your agreement with the conditions of
submission.
The following webpage will then appear.

You will see a link to a coversheet, called an Assignment Template on this
webpage, at the ‘Click here’ link. DO NOT IGNORE THIS COVERSHEET.
Download the document, complete the details, then copy and paste the
sheet onto the front page of your assignment. ALTERNATIVELY, you can
use the coversheet on the last page of this document (or available
here).
DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME ON THE COVERSHEET.
If you do not copy and paste this coversheet onto your assignment it
may not be marked.
Click the ‘Browse’ button to locate your assignment document (the version
which includes the coversheet), then click ‘Submit’ to upload it to the
system.
If you have difficulties with uploading please email the Law Student Centre
at law-studentcentre@unimelb.edu.au and advise the time you attempted
to submit and the problem you encountered. You should try to resubmit.
The Law Student Centre will advise you how to resolve the issue.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Extensions granted by the Law Student Centre will be recorded as the due
date of the assignment. If this is not the case, please contact the Student
Centre.
Ensure you have attached the assessment coversheet (see below) to the
front of your assignment before submitting.
If you are having problems submitting, please email law-
studentcentre@unimelb.edu.au attaching your assignment. Your
submission date and time will be the time and date in which the email was
received.
MAC USERS: Students using Macintosh computers should, wherever
possible, submit in Microsoft Word.
