									 NORFOLK LIONS CLUB AMBULANCE
Intravenous (ALS) therapy criteria includes, but is not limited to, the
following:
Medical
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
Altered Mental Status.
Any complaint for which a Paramedic has been called.
Cardiac Arrest.
Cardiac Emergency.
Chest Pain.
Confusion/Disorientation.
CVA/Stroke.
Dehydration.
Diabetic Emergencies.
Difficulty Breathing/Dyspnea.
Dizziness.
General Weakness.
Hypoglycemia (check blood sugar using glucometer).
Hypotension-Blood Pressure below 90 mmHg with symptoms.
Hypothermia.
Neurological Deficit (numbness in extremities).
Overdose.
Respiratory Arrest.
Seizures/Postictal.
Unconscious/Unresponsive patients.

Trauma
Amputation other than fingers/toes.
Any complaint or injury for which a Paramedic has been called.
Any complaint or injury for which LifeStar has been called.
Blunt chest injuries.
Burns (significant).
Gunshot wounds.
Head Trauma.
Penetrating trauma to the head, neck, chest, or abdomen.
Prolonged extrication.
Significant blood loss.
Significant mechanism of injury.
