Testing with Quicken Essentials for Mac 2010
Before you can use Quicken Essentials for Mac 2010 to test Direct Connect, Web Connect, or
Quicken Connect, you will need to follow the steps below to point Quicken Essentials to our test
region and download the test financial institution list (FiDir).
Step 1: Download and Install Quicken Essentials for Mac 2010
NOTE: It is recommended to install QEMac to Applications Folder on the hard drive

Step 2: Point Quicken Essentials to CQAT presence
a) Open Quicken Essentials for Mac (QEMac)
b) Click on Get Started I am a new user
c) Once the financial institution list is displayed Cancel out of the FI List window close QEMac
(these steps ensure the correct folders are created on the Mac System)
d) In Application folder on the hard drive click the QEMac application while holding down the control
key on your keyboard. (If you have saved the application to your desk top click the QEMac
application while holding down the control key on your keyboard)
Quicken Essentials
Submenu
e) In the submenu click Show Package Contents Contents Frameworks
OnlineBankingFramework.framework Resources/en.lproj/Localizable.strings
f) OpenLocalizable.strings with TextEdit. Under Branding URL modify –prod- to –cqat- and save this
change.
g) OpenLocalizable.strings with TextEdit. Under Branding URL modify –prod- to –cqat- and save this
change.
Point QEMac to CQAT
CQAT FI List
h) Replace PROD FIDIR by TEST FIDIR:
Download test FIDIR.TXT from the following URL,
https://ofx-cqat-filist.intuit.com/qm1900/data/fidir.txt
Save it to the desktop then move it to the Downloads Folder
(This will replace existing fidir.txt file by the newly downloaded one)
The FIDIR.TXT file is located on the Hard Drive at: Users/UserName/Library/Application
Support/Quicken Essentials/Downloads/fidir.txt
NOTE: It may be easier to locate files if folders are arranged by list or column rather than side-by-side
