GANG OF SNATCHERS ALONG WITH RECEIVER OF STOLEN
PROPERTY ARRESTED : ONE REVOLVER (32 BORE) WITH THREE
LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED AND 7 CASES WORKED OUT
With the arrest of Shamshuddin @ Shamshu (28 years) s/o
Deen Mohd. r/o K-628, Mangol Puri, Delhi, Radhey Shyam @ Gabbar
(23 years) s/o Sharwan Kumar r/o B-1/2, Sultan Puri, Delhi and
Shatrughan @ Shatru (28 years) s/o Bechu Lal Soni r/o M-737,
Mangol Puri, Delhi, Special Staff, Outer District has busted a gang of
notorious snatchers, recently released on bail and worked out seven
cases of M.V. theft and snatching. One Revolver (32 bore) with three
live cartridges and three stolen motor cycles recovered.
BRIEF FACTS :
In order to curb the incidents of snatching and MV theft, a special
team comprising of Inspr. Puran Pant, SI Surender, ASI Babu Ram, HC
Satish, HC Yogesh, HC Suresh, Ct. Hari Chand, Ct. Ramesh, Ct. Rajeev
Raghav, Ct. Sandeep, Ct. Virender Negi, Ct. Gajender, Ct. Pawan and
Ct. Rakesh was constituted under the close supervision of Shri Ved
Prakash, ACP/Operation for developing the information and
apprehension of culprits. The team focused on the recently
released / bailed out hardcore snatchers and identified certain
persons who had been reunited after being released on bail and
indulged in commission of snatching and MV theft. The team
members started kept on chasing their movements and sources were
also deployed to keep check on their every movement.
On 23.10.10 at about 4.30 PM, the team received a specific
information regarding assembling of snatchers and receiver of
stolen property somewhere in the area of Sector-16, Rohini,
Delhi. The team members immediately swung into action and
laid a trap near Transport Office, Sector-16, Rohini, Delhi. At
about 6.30 PM, Shamshuddin @ Shamshu, Radhey Shyam @
Gabbar and Shatrughan @ Shatru who reached at the spot from
different directions on three motor cycles were apprehended by
the team. Shamshuddin @ Shamshu tried to take out his
revolver but did not succeed as they were overpowered by the
team members promptly. Motor Cycle (Bajaj Pulsar) recovered
from Shamshuddin which found to be stolen and wanted in case
FIR No. 315/10 u/s 379 IPC PS K.N. Katju Marg, Motor Cycle
(Hero Honda Passion) recovered from Radhey Sham @ Gabber
which found to be stolen and wanted in case FIR No. 212/10
U/s 379 IPC PS Vijay VIhar, Delhi and Motor Cycle (Bajaj
Discover) recover from Shatrughan @ Shatru which found to be
stolen and wanted in case FIR No. 333/10 u/s 379 IPC PS
Bindapur, Delhi. One revolver (32 bore) with two live cartridges
recovered from Shamshuddin and one live cartridge recovered
from Radhey Shyam @ Gabbar. Accordingly, case FIR No. 332/10
U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act, & 411/34 IPC PS K.N. Katju Marg, Delhi was
registered and investigation was taken up.
During the course of interrogation, accused Shamshuddin @
Shamshu and Radhey Shyam @ Gabbar disclosed that they had
recently released on bail. After being released from jail, they both
reunited and contacted one Sunny r/o Uttam Nagar, Delhi, who
provided them stolen motor cycles for committing snatchings. They
immediately contacted their receiver Shatrughan @ Shatru for disposal
of snatched chains and started committing snatchings. They used to
snatch gold chains and purse and dispose off the same to Shatru for
cash. They have vast criminal background and several cases registered
against them in different Police Stations in Delhi. They always carry
weapons with them and never hesitate to use the same while facing

GANG OF SNATCHERS / AUTO-LIFTERS BUSTED:
8 CASES WORKED OUT
With the arrest of accused persons namely Shakeel @ Sherni,
Ajay Kumar Mandal, Raj Kumar @ Raja and Manoj, the staff of PS South
Rohini, has busted a notorious gang of auto-lifters / snatchers and
worked out eight cases of snatching / M.V. theft. At their instance four
stolen vehicles, robbed gold jewellery and twelve mobile phones have
BRIEF FACTS / INCIDENTS:
On 25.10.10 at about 3 PM, a team of PS South Rohini, comprising of SI
Ajay Karan Sharma, SI Surender, D-4525, Ct. Inderjeet No. 2125/OD, Ct.
Babloo No.676/ OD, Ct. Rajesh No. 1410/OD and Ct. Yogender No. 667/OD
under the supervision of Inspr. Vijender Pal, SHO/South Rohini were conducting
checking of vehicles by setting up a picket in front of Vardhaman Plaza, Sector-
3, Rohini, Delhi. During checking of vehicles, the picket staff signaled two
youths to stop who were riding Bajaj Caliber Motorcycle (bearing
Registration No. DL8S-Q-7775) and asked to produce the documents
related to the ownership of the motorcycle. Instead of producing the
documents, they started to make excuses and could not justify the
ownership. On suspicion, the status of vehicle was verified from the
Zip Net and the same was reported to be stolen from the area of PS
Saraswati Vihar and wanted in case FIR No. 176/10 u/s 379 IPC PS
Saraswati Vihar, Delhi. Both revealed their identity as Ajay Kumar
Mandal s/o Jivach Mandal r/o G-754, Shakurpur J.J. Colony, Delhi and
Raj Kumar @ Raja s/o Radhey Shyam r/o H-366, Shakurpur J.J. Colony,
Delhi. On search, 2 robbed mobile phones recovered from the
possession of Raj Kumar @ Raja and 1 robbed mobile phone and part of
robbed gold chain recovered from the possession of Ajay Kumar
Mandal. Both accused were taken into police custody u/s 41.1(D) / 102 CrPC
and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation, two stolen cars were recovered at the
instance of accused Ajay Kumar Mandal which were reported to be stolen and
wanted in case FIR No. 171/10 and case FIR No. 81/02 PS Prashant Vihar. On
enquiry about the part of gold chain, accused Ajay Kumar Mandal disclosed that
the same had been snatched by one of their accomplice namely Shakeel @
Sherni r/o Jehangir Puri, Delhi who had given him to sell it and enjoy the
money. At their instance, accused Shakeel @ Sherni was arrested from
the area of Jehangir Puri and recovered two robbed gold chains and a motor
cycle (Hero Honda Passion Plus) bearing Registration No. DL8S-NB-5433
reported to be stolen from the area of PS North Rohini and wanted in case FIR
No. 234/10 u/s 379 IPC PS North Rohini, Delhi. He disclosed that these gold
chains had been snatched by him alongwith his accomplice Manoj s/o Billoo in
the area of area of South Rohini. At the instance of accused Shakeel @
Sherni, his associate Manoj was also apprehended from the area of PS
Jehangir Puri and one gold chain snatched in the area of South Rohini was
recovered. Raids were also conducted to arrest other accused persons
namely Sandeep and Ram Babu r/o Jahangir Puri but they were found
absconding. Efforts are on to arrest both the absconding accused and more
recoveries are likely to be affected.
During the course of interrogation, accused confessed to have
committed large number of snatchings, robberies, auto-lifting, etc. in North
West and Outer Delhi. They disclosed that they are fond of wearing
branded clothes/shoes and wants to spend luxurious life but they had
not source of income to fulfill their requirements of money. Hence,
they formed their own gang and started snatching of gold-chains /
mobile phones and auto-lifting. Their area of operation has been mostly
North-West and Outer Delhi (starting from Jahangir Puri to Rohini and
adjoining areas). They further disclosed that their associate namely
Sandeep steals and provides them two-wheelers for committing the
snatchings which they used to leave abandoned at isolated place after
committing the crime. They used to dispose off the booty at cheaper rates
and distribute the cash equally.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS :
1. Shakeel @ Sherni s/o Wahid r/o C-341, Jehangir Puri, Delhi is
illiterate. He is still unmarried. He has father, mother, four brothers
and one sister in his family. His father is alcoholic and does not look
after the family. He is previously involved in the following cases :
(i) Case FIR No. 321/09 u/s 356/379 IPC P.S Jahangir Puri.
(ii) Case FIR No. 367/09 u/s 356/379 IPC P.S Jahangir Puri.
(iii) Case FIR No. 371/09 u/s 356/379 IPC P.S Jahangir Puri.
2. Ajay Kumar Mandal s/o Jivach Mandal r/o G-754, Shakurpur J.J.
Colony, Delhi is a school drop-out. He is still unmarried. He is working
in a firm which manufactures tooth-dentures. In the free time, he
alongwith his associates commits snatchings. His parents are staying
in Jaipur, (Rajasthan). He is previously involved in auto-lifting cases in
Jaipur (Rajasthan) including Case FIR No. 92/07 u/s 379 IPC P.S.
Kotwali, Jaipur City (Rajasthan). His other involvements are being
verified from Rajasthan.
3. Raj Kumar @ Raja s/o Radhey Shyam r/o H-366, Shakurpur J.J.
Colony, Delhi is a school dropout. He is still unmarried. He is a Cab
driver by profession. He is previously involved in case FIR No. 165/08
u/s 363/376 IPC P.S. Saraswati Vihar, Delhi. He also commits
snatching in free time alongwith his associates.
4. Manoj s/o Billoo r/o G-1870, Jehangir Puri, Delhi is a school dropout.
He is married and having one child. He works as sweeper.

THREE NOTORIOUS BURGLARS WHO TOOK LOAN AGAINST STOLEN GOLD
FROM MUTHOOT FINANCE LIMITED, ARRESTED
South District Police has arrested three notorious burglars who used
to take loan against stolen gold from various branches of Muthoot Finance
Limited at Aurbindo Place, Hauz Khas, New Delhi & Sec-5 Rohini, New
Delhi. With their arrest, 12 cases of burglaries/thefts have been solved and
320 grams of gold ornaments, one laptop & two mobile phones have been

INCIDENT, TEAM & ARREST:

Bhupender under the supervision of Inspr. Jarnail Singh, SHO/Malviya Nagar
and Sh. Mehar Singh, ACP/Hauz Khas was also formed to arrest the criminals
involved in these incidents.
The team so formed worked restlessly and collected details of several
criminals previously involved in such cases and activated their secret informers
to develop information about the criminals involved in these cases. On
21.10.2010 while the team members were patrolling in the area of Sheikh
Sarai Phase-II, an information regarding presence of two burglars near
Sheikh Sarai Transport Authority, New Delhi who were planning to commit
burglary in the area of Malviya Nagar was received by SI Amit Chaudhary
and ASI Rambhool Singh. Immediately, the police team laid a trap and both
accused Nitesh and Siddharth were arrested. At their instance, the third
accused R. Ram was also arrested from his residence at Dakshin Puri.
INTERROGATION, MODUS-OPERANDI & PROFILE:
During interrogation, it was revealed that Nitesh, the leader of the gang,
had previously been arrested in the year 2008 by Malviya Nagar Police in a case
of burglary registered vide FIR No.123/08. After release from jail, Nitesh formed
a gang in association with Siddharth, Rahul Dogra and started committing
burglaries/thefts in various parts of Delhi.
With their arrest, 12 cases of burglary/house thefts committed in
the areas of Malviya Nagar, Saket, Hauz Khas, Sarojini Nagar, K.M.Pur etc.
have been solved and 320 grams of gold jewellery, one laptop and two
mobile phones have been recovered at their instance.
On 04.08.2010, Nitesh in association with Sidharth and Rahul Dogra
committed a burglary in the house of one Sanjay Gautam r/o K-45/G,
Sheikh Sarai, Phase-II and decamped with gold jewellery items, mobile
phones etc. (FIR No.325/10 PS Malviya Nagar)
On 30.09.2010, Nitesh, Siddharth and Rahul committed a
burglary in the house of one Vineet Thakur r/o K-12/G, Sheikh
Sarai Phase-II and decamped with gold jewellery items and one
laptop. (FIR No.400/10 PS Malviya Nagar)
Nitesh Kumar was born and brought up in Delhi. He has studied up to
12th standard and is presently pursuing Multi Media Course from F-Tech, Green
Park New Delhi. His father expired in year 2000, whereas his mother is a
government employee. In order to meet expenses on various indulgences, he
formed a gang and started committing burglaries/thefts. He has previously been
arrested by Malviya Nagar police in the year 2008.
Siddharth is studying in 12th class from Open School. His father is
engaged in Private Business. He is a neighbour of Nitesh. He joined the gang
formed by Nitesh and started committing crime.
R. Ram is a school dropout. He is working in a Pet Clinic. R. Ram, hails
from South India and had links with several office bearers of Muthoot Finance
Company which is basically a South India company and used to help people in
getting loan from this company.

FOUR ARRESTED WITH ANTIQUE IDOLS OF ‘LORD RAMA,
LAXMAN & SITA’ WORTH CRORES OF RUPEES
With the arrest of (1) Kuldeep s/o Zile Singh r/o Vill. Sultan Pur
Mazra, Nangloi, Delhi; (2) Rajesh s/o Prem Chand r/o Kamruddin Nagar,
Nangloi, Delhi; (3) Remmy Alby s/o Xavior Alby r/o Sat Nagar, Karol Bagh,
Delhi and (4) Harnarayan r/o Amar Colony, Nangloi, Delhi, the staff of
Police Station Prasad Nagar, Central District police has recovered antique
idols of ‘Lord Rama, Laxman and Sita’ worth crores of rupees.
On 25.10.2010, a secret information was received by SI Pawan
Kumar of PS Prasad Nagar, Central District that two persons who are in
possession of some antique idols would come in a park behind Shamshan
Ghat, Prasad Nagar on a Pulsar motorcycle for delivering the idols to a
person. Consequently, a team was constituted by Inspr. Harish Kumar
ATO/Prasad Nagar comprising of SI Pawan Kumar, HC Bahadur Singh, Ct.
Mahesh and Ct. Pradeep.
A trap was laid around the park behind Shamshan Ghat by the
police team in plain clothes. At about 1:30 PM, one person came inside the
park and after 15 minutes, two persons came there on a motorcycle and
handed over a blue colour bag to the person already present there. All the
three persons were overpowered by the police staff. On opening the bag,
three antique idols of Lord Rama, Laxman & Sita and one garland of white
pulses were found which were taken into possession. The identity of the
apprehended persons was disclosed as (1) Kuldeep r/o Nangloi, Delhi; (2)
Rajesh r/o Nangloi, Delhi and (3) Remmy Alby r/o Karol Bagh, Delhi. Since
they were in possession of these antique idols without any authorization, a
case vide FIR No. 150/10 was registered at PS Prasad Nagar under the
provisions of Antiques and Art Treasures Act 1972.
DESCRIPTION OF IDOLS
The said idols were got inspected by the officers of Archeological
Survey of India, Safdarjung Tomb, New Delhi who confirmed that the idols
are of ‘Lord Rama, Laxman and Sita’. The idols are antique and hundreds of
years old. The value of these idols is in crores of rupees.
All the accused persons were subjected to thorough interrogation in
which accused Kuldeep and Rajesh disclosed that they had received these
idols from one Harnarayan of Nangloi, Delhi and they had come at the park
to sell these idols to Remmy Alby. Before they could execute their plan of
sale, they were apprehended by the police team. At their instance, another
accused Harnarayan has also been apprehended.
Further investigation is under progress and efforts are being made
to verify the source from where the antique idols have been stolen and to
apprehend the remaining accused persons involved in this racket.

his office and asked for the signatures of the complainant on which the complainant
demanded a letter in the name of his company. The person went back and at about 4 PM
again came to his office with the requisite letter of the bank. The complainant gave his
signatures but when he asked for the Identity card of the bank, the person could not
provide the I. Card on which the complainant got suspicious and called the local police.
The person was apprehended by the police staff of Police Station Nabi Karim.
On his search, a driving license issued from Mumbai Transport Authority was recovered
according which his identity was disclosed as Mubin Sayyad s/o Hazi Sallam r/o Mewat
Colony, Punhana, Distt. Mewat, Haryana. However, on verification, it was learnt that
his driving license is fake and his actual identity is Naseem Ahmed aged 23 years s/o
Aas Mohd. r/o Mewat Colony, Punhana, Distt. Mewat, Haryana. Consequently, a case
vide FIR No. 143/10 u/s 417/419/474 IPC was registered at Police Station Nabi Karim.
During interrogation, accused Naseem Ahmed disclosed that he is staying in a
hotel in the area of Nabi Karim. He used to collect some account number of customers
of Bank of Baroda from the counter and then collected the account statements. Further,
he called the account holders in the name of Chief Verification Officer of Bank of
Baroda and then himself visited the office/residence of the account holder on the pretext
of agent of bank for verification. Then he used to obtain the signatures of the customer
and withdrew the money from the bank through withdrawal slip after placing the
signatures collected from the customers. In the present case, he was apprehended due to
the alertness of the complainant.
He has studied upto Intermediate and presently unemployed. Further efforts
are being made to verify his previous antecedents.

WANTED CRIMINAL IN MURDER CASE ARRESTED
With the arrest of Janul Abadin @ Fufa s/o Mohd. Aslam r/o 12-A/145, Gali No. 14,
Vijay Mohalla, Mauj Pur, Delhi, North East District police solved the murder case registered vide
case FIR No. 504/2008 dated 12/12/08 U/s 302/34 IPC, PS Seelam Pur, Delhi.
TEAM AND THE INCIDENT:-
A murder of Mehtab @ Guddu s/o Sabbir Ahmed r/o H. No. 61, Gali No. 2,
Subash Mohalla, Mauj Pur, Delhi (Bad Character) was occurred on 11/12/2008 in the area
of PS Seelam Pur. A case vide FIR No. 504/2008 dated 12/12/08 U/s 302/34 IPC PS
Seelam Pur, Delhi was registered and investigation was taken up. During course of
investigation, six alleged persons have already been arrested and Janul abadin @ Fufa @
Fufa was absconding and evading his arrest since then.
A team consisting of Inspr Sanjiv Gupta, SHO/ Seelam Pur, SI Gian Singh, Ct.
Mahesh No. 2678/NE and Ct. Suresh No. 1187/NE was constituted under the close
supervision of Sh. Chander Kant, ACP/Seelam Pur, North-East District, Delhi to
apprehend this criminal.
On 25-10-2010, secret information was received that Janual Abadin @ Fufa, who
is wanted in a murder case, will come in the area of PS Seelam Pur, Delhi. A special team
consisting of above police officials was deployed in the area and accordingly a trap was
laid down. During the patrolling in the area at 66 Feet Road near T point, Seelam Pur
Delhi, at the instance of secret informer, Janual Abadin @ Fufa was apprehended.
On sustained interrogation, Janual Abadin @ Fufa accepted his involvement in the said
murder case along with his associates. He further revealed that today he came to the
area of Seelam Pur, Delhi with intention to commit crime but apprehended by the police.
Janul Abadin @ Fufa s/o Mohd. Aslam r/o Vijay Mohalla, Mauj Pur, Delhi, aged
22 years. He is unmarried and is having 6 brothers and two sisters and running a grocery
