NOTE: Please start your site lap early to ensure you are back in time for the start. (Especially slower rider sin Group 1)
3. Description of event.
3.1. The riders will be split into groups. Group 1 & 2: All female novice, Sportsman and junior quad and motorcycle
riders. Group 3: Motorcycle 200 and Motorcycle Open. Group 4: Quad 200, Quad Open & Ladies Open.
3.2. Competitors competing in the 2006 KORC fun series will line up first, in order of their current standings. Other
competitors have to line up after the series competitors in the order of their racing numbers. (You can join
KORC as a series competitor for only 100 p/a, to ensure a good starting place at our events)
3.3. Competitors will be required to complete 3 laps of +-50km. Sportsman, Lady Novice and Junior riders will start
as many +-20km laps as possible in 1 hour.
This excludes one optional site lap before the race. NOTE: It is the rider’s responsibility to see that he/she is
back in time for the riders briefing after the site lap. Slow riders should start the site lap well before closing.
3.4. The start/finish will at the Jacobsdal Primary School Grounds (+/-160km from Bloemfontein, and +/-60km from
Kimberley).
4. The Route
4.1. Any competitor, who strays a distance more than 6m from the route, must rejoin the route at the same place as
where he/she they left the route.
4.2. Any competitor who leaves a special stage/section where the route is enclosed by bunting, or where poles with
stickers are on both sides of the road, have to rejoin the route at the same place where he/she left the route.
5. Event and Status
5.1. The race will be known as the 2006 Jacobsdal Off-Road, and will be the third round of the 2006 KORC Fun Series.
The event starts when documentation commences and will be deemed finished once the results are final.
5.2. This event is classified as a Fun Day for fund raising.
6. Officials
6.1.1. Clerk of the course: TBA, Chief Marshal: Yolande Botha

7. Classes
7.1. Ladies Novice: Female Riders, all engine sizes, motorcycles & quads.
7.2. Ladies Open: Female Riders, all engine sizes, motorcycles & quads.
7.3. Sportsman: Novice Riders, all engine sizes, motorcycles & quads
7.4. Junior Boys/Girls: Motorcycle: Competition two strokes not exceeding 85cc, competition four strokes and dual sports not exceeding 125cc.
Quad: Two strokes not exceeding 200cc and four strokes not exceeding 350cc, only riders younger than 14.
7.5. Motorcycle 200cc: Competition two strokes not exceeding 200cc and competition four strokes not exceeding 250cc.
7.6. Motorcycle Open: Competition two strokes exceeding 200cc and competition four strokes exceeding 250cc.
7.7. Quads 200cc: Two strokes not exceeding 200cc and four strokes not exceeding 350cc.
7.8. Quads Open: Two strokes exceeding 200cc and four strokes exceeding 350cc.

8. Vehicles and equipment
8.1. Competitors are not allowed to switch vehicles during the event. Only one competitor is allowed per vehicle per
class.
8.2. Competitors must wear suitable protective clothing with a minimum of a helmet, gloves, goggles, long sleeved
jersey, long pans and boots which covers the ankle.
8.3. All Ladies novice, sportsman and Junior riders will be provided with a yellow sticker, which must be attached to
the front of the racing vehicle, and it must be clearly visible.
9. Racing Numbers
9.1. Each competitor will be given a helmet sticker with a number. This will be the competitors racing number for the
event.
9.2. The helmet sticker must be attached to the LEFT side of your helmet, on the chin piece. If your goggle strap
covers your number, you will be delayed at the time control.
9.3. The racing numbers will be start with:
F – Ladies Novice, X – Sportsman, J – Junior,
M – Motorcycle Open Q – Quad Open & Ladies Open A – Motorcycle 200 B – Quad 200
9.4. Non series riders. Racing numbers will be allocated as the organizers sees fit. The general rule is: The
numbers are allocated in order of entries and payments received.
9.4.1. The sooner you enter the better chance you have of getting a good starting position.
9.5. All vehicles must have a clearly visible number on the front and on both sides of their vehicle. Quads are to
have an additional rear facing number board. Recommended digit Size: 170mm x 80mm per digit.
10. Start
10.1. For safety reasons the organizers reserve the right to break the Quad 200 and Open riders into 2 groups, and
start the second group later if a very large number of entries are received.
10.2. Starts are timed in such a way that the majority of any group will have completed the race before the next group
starts. (Except for group 1 &2 which race at the same time).
10.3. Motorcycles will start at intervals 2 at a time. Quads will start at intervals 1 at a time. (This may be changed
depending on the number of entries)
10.4. Pre entered riders competing in the 2006 KORC fun series will line up first, in order of their current standing.
Other riders must line up at the start in order of their points and/or time of entry. Riders with the same points will
line up in order of paid entries received. Line up must be in the following order.
10.5. PSC = Pre entered series competitors.
10.5.1. Group 1: 1st Sportsman and Ladies Novice PSC, 2nd non PSC.
10.5.2. Group 2: 1st Juniors PSC, Juniors non PSC. (Just after group 1)
10.5.3. Group 3: 1st Motorcycle Open & 200 PSC, 2nd MC Open & 200 non PSC.

11. Racing etiquette & Safety
11.1. NEVER go backward on the course or stop on the course. If you think you are not on the route, stop a safe
distance next to the road and slowly make your way back a safe distance from the road.
11.2. You must come to a complete stop at all marshal points and road crossings. No overtaking is allowed between
a marshal board and a marshal point, or between a road crossing board and a road crossing.
11.3. It is the competitor’s responsibility to give marshals enough time to mark his/her vehicle or helmet at marshal
points and road crossings.
11.4. Any competitor who practice the course, or and found with a motorcycle/quad on the course within 2 weeks
before the event, will be given a time penalty or disqualified from the event. People, who are busy with course
marking as part of a marking team, are not practicing the course.
12. Entries
12.1. Entries open on 4 March 2006.
Entries not accompanied by the relevant fees will not be accepted.
12.2. Entry Fees: The entry fee will be R150 per normal entrant and R100 per entrant for Sportsman, Junior and
Lady Novice Riders.
12.3. Pre-Entries will be accepted by fax and e-mail up to Friday, 21 April 2006 at 12:00, Fax: 053 830 8001, E-mail:

12.4. Pre-Entries and payment can also be made at AeoN Computer, 182 Du Toitspan Road, Kimberley up to Friday,
21 April 2006 at 12:00.
12.5. Competitor’s wishing to enter by fax or e-mail and directly deposit their entry fee in the relevant bank account
must fax/e-mail proof of payment together with their entry form. Please verify that your name, as entered, is
present on the proof of payment.
12.6. Competitors entering by fax or e-mail must bring their original entry form, indemnity form and proof of payment
to documentation.
12.7. Bank account details for direct deposit of entry fees (Bank statement description: “KORC yoursurname,

12.8. Competitors can call 053 830 8000, send a fax to 053 830 8001 or an e-mail to korc@kimberley.co.za to
request entry forms to be faxed or e-mailed to them. Entry forms can also be downloaded from
http://korc.kimberley.co.za.

12.9. Late entries made in person at the event and will be accepted at the event on Saturday 22 April 2006. No
additional late entry fee will be charged.
12.10. No refunds will be given.
13. Race headquarters and official notice board.
13.1. Race Headquarters will be next to the start/finish, but will move the prize giving venue before the preliminary
results are announced.
13.2. The official Notice Board will be at the race headquarters.
14. Documentation
14.1. All competitors will be required to undergo documentation at race headquarters, at the time indicated on the
program. NOTE: No one will be allowed to start a site lap after the time indicated on the program, or before they
have been through documentation.
15. Refuel, refueling and designated service points.
15.1.1. The refuel and service point will be close to the start line and documentation.
15.1.2. Competitors may only receive help from officials of the race and racing competitors on the route. At the
designated service point competitors may receive help from their service crew. Competitors who have finished
or who have retired may not render assistance to other competitors on the route.
15.1.3. While refueling competitors must dismount from their motorcycle or quad and switch the engine off.
15.1.4. Only officials are allowed on the course. If a member of any competitors support crew is caught on the course,
the competitor will be disqualified.

15.1.5. Competitors must only use 1 gear with low throttle in the pit lane. The penalty for speeding in the pit lane is 1
minute per transgression.
16. Finish and route check/control.
16.1. The finish of the event will take the form of a timed control point. The competitors in each class with the least
total time will be declared the winners of the class.
16.2. After the race competitors must leave their racing vehicle in the impound paddock, until the control point
markings have been checked. No one is allowed to enter the paddock without the supervision of a marshal.
17. Retirement.
17.1. Retirement: Should a competitor retire from the event he is to immediately notify the nearest marshal / official of
the fact in writing. Competitors who have retired from the event must proceed to Race headquarters as soon as
possible and hand in their completed incident report from.
Failure to comply with this may result in the competitor’s entry being refused by the organizers for future events.
17.2. If a competitor is missing please notify the chief marshal, and include the competitors race number and vehicle
description.
18. Incident Report Forms
18.1. Incident report forms: All competitors will be issued with an Incident Report From at documentation. Your
completed incident report form must be handed in at race headquarters, within 20 min after completing the
event or retiring from the event.
18.2. Any incidents involving any person or property must be recorded on this from. Should a competitor fail to report
any incident involving damage to any person or property on this form, the competitor’s entry may be refused by
the organizers for future events. In particular, competitors are requested to notify the Organisers of any
damaged/broken fences/gates so that the necessary repairs may be carried out.
18.3. If a competitor fails to hand in his/her incident report form within the allotted time, he/she will be excluded from
the results or classified as a non finisher.
18.4. When handing in your incident report form you will be provided with a lucky draw ticket for the prize giving. This
ticket also proof on handing in your incident report form. You may be asked to show this ticket in case of a
dispute on whether you handed in your incident report form.
19. Protest
19.1. Protest must be handed on a Protest Form, which is available at race headquarters.
19.2. All protests must be handed in within 30 minutes of finishing the event, or withdrawing from the event.
19.3. Protest can be lodged by any competitor, or member of his support crew.
19.4. The person who lodge the protest must have witnessed the event personally, or include a signed report by the
witness. You must include the witness’ full names, ID Number and contact number. This report must describe
the incident in detail. The witness must be available to answer any questions the organizers may have.
19.5. A protest can be lodged against any competitor who transgressed any of the rules and regulations of the event.
A protest can also be lodged against any competitor if any member of his support crew transgressed any of the
rules and regulations of the event.
20. COMPETITOR CONDUCT
20.1. Injuries
In the event of anyone being injured, competitors are obliged to stop and render whatever assistance may be
needed. In the case of serious injury do not move the injured competitor unless he is in a dangerous position.
THE NEXT MARSHAL MUST BE INFORMED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO SUMMON
ASSISTANCE, PLEASE GIVE THE MARSHAL THE INJURED COMPETITORS NAME AND COMPETITION
NUMBER AND APPROXIMATE LOCATION. WHEN AN AMBULANCE IS ENCOUNTERED ON ROUTE IT
HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY ALL THE TIME.
20.2. General
20.2.1. The Organisers have been afforded the privilege of staging this event through populated, cultivated and remote areas

20.2.2. Please exercise caution through these areas and where livestock is concerned. Competitors are
required to act responsible so that the event can take place in the future.
20.2.3. The route may traverse cultivated and grazing land (veldt), when it does; competitors are to stay on the
route and away from vegetation. Competitors not found doing so will be excluded from the event.
20.2.4. In many places the route may be narrow and dust or mud may be a problem. You should therefore,
afford any competitor who has caught up with you every opportunity to overtake. Competitor’s
observed by officials of the race, who do not give faster competitors an opportunity to overtake,
may be penalized.
21. Break downs.
21.1. The organizers will to their best to retrieve or assist pit crews to retrieve vehicles which have broken down on
the course. Vehicles and their riders will be retrieved as soon as possible, but due to the number of break downs
this can take some time.
21.2. The organizers take no responsibility to any damage to a vehicle retrieved by the marshals or sweepers.
21.3. The pit crew of a competitor may retrieve him or his vehicle while the race is in progress, if the competitor can
make his way to a road outside of the racing area. Under no circumstances may anyone but an official cross
the course or venture onto the course to retrieve competitors or their vehicles while racing is in progress.
21.4. Pit crews may follow the sweepers after the event to pick it stranded competitors or vehicles themselves.
21.5. Competitors are requested to be considerate to the landowners when retrieving stranded racing vehicles from
the route after the event, and to ensure that damage to cultivated and grazing lands is avoided when retrieving
their vehicles. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action being taken against the competitor concerned.
22. Abuse of Officials: Competitors are responsible for their own behaviour and that of family friends and pit crew.
23. TIME BAR: See the program above.
23.1. The Time Bar may be adjusted during the race, according to the average time it takes to complete a lap.
24. RESULTS
24.1. Provisional results will be posted within 90 min after the last competitor of the day finished.
24.2. Competitors will have 20 min after the posting of the provisional results in which to lodge a written appeal if they
are not satisfied with the results.
24.3. Should there be an unreasonable delay in announcing the results it may be postponed.
25. PRIZE GIVING
25.1. Prizes to be announced.
25.2. The Official Prize giving will be at +-18:30. If any competitors finish after 16:00, the prize giving may be
delayed.
25.3. Winners must be present at the prize giving to claim their prizes and/or trophies.
25.4. Food stalls will be available. Showers will be available.
26. RIGHTS OF THE CLERK OF THE COURSE, PROMOTERS AND ORGANISERS
26.1. The Clerk of the Course reserves the right to: Alter the departure times and route if forced to do so through weather conditions, or
for any other reasons; Alter the starting and scoring methods, if it is found necessary to do so.
26.2. The Promoters / Organisers reserve the right to:
26.2.1. Postpone, abandon or cancel the event for any reasons.
26.2.2. Refuse any entry.
27. Food and cool drinks will be available at the venue.
