Members of a cross-functional team may act primarily as representatives of their functional
units, and may confine themselves to listing ideas to be incorporated in a NP concept, whose
criteria are not always compatible, but often will not manifest until the idea specifications are to
be translated into a single product
Demographic diversity is seen as problematic as it introduces differences that produce
communication problems and tension, thus hindering effective teamwork.
