We at DPS Rohini welcome you to the new academic session. We hope it will be yet
another productive year of participation and cooperation.
It is the beginning of the new session, new aspirations and new hopes. Let us get ready
and encourage our children to put in their best efforts, nurture their talents and enable
them to emerge as winners.
The syllabus in each subject is as per the ASM.
80% attendance is required and no relaxation of any kind will be granted to a student who
fails to fulfil the school’s requirement. In case attendance is short, the student will not be
eligible for any academic prizes.

To meet the Head Mistress Sr. School Monday to Friday 8.00a.m. to 9.00 a.m.

PEN AND PAPER TEST
Please refer to the almanac for the Pen and Paper Test schedule.
It is compulsory for all students to take the Pen and Paper test seriously.
GENERAL AWARENESS – IMPORTANT CHANGES
It is important for the parents to know that from the current session onwards a
separate General Awareness exam would be held in each term based on the G.K. Book.
The earlier practice of testing the knowledge of current affairs based on the
newspapers in the pen and paper test would also continue. However, the marks of the
‘Current Affairs’ component of the Wednesday Test will be added to the General

inculcate the habit of reading.
The main section of the newspaper is a great source of information and the best means to
improve your child’s language skills. Ear-mark “newspaper reading time” in your ward’s
routine. Encourage her / him to listen to the news everyday.

PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR THE BIMONTH
As a part of a British Council project, a wide gamut of activities with a global dimension
has been designed for all the classes. We expect a lot of parental support in this project.
We will keep you posted about the forthcoming activities under the programme so that
you can help us and be equal partners with us on this journey.
1. ACTIVITY – WHEN ANIMALS TALK
Project work in Biology :- A power point presentation to show the various aspects
of intra and inter species communication in animals.
2. ACTIVITY – FACE TO FAITH
The need of the hour is to inculcate the feeling of tolerance and acceptance of
religious diversity by creating awareness about the religious faiths of the world.
Keeping this in mind students of class VII would present assemblies on important
festivals of various religions followed world over.
3. A VIEW FROM THE WINDOW
A view from the window will allow children to explore their immediate
surroundings, natural and man- made and the lives of people through the concept
of modernization.Students will look for stories and poems with distinct rural and
urban settings in the language assigned. They will then create their own
stories/poems based on the findings.
We would like to draw your attention towards a few important points that can help
imbibe a sense of responsibility, discipline and regularity in your ward.
Please go through the first few pages of the almanac as these pages provide a lot
of handy information that you would find useful for the whole year. Kindly ensure
that page nos.2 and 3 of the almanac are duly filled. The photograph of the child
must be in school uniform. Photograph in House T-shirt will not be accepted.
Students must wear their Identity Cards to the school daily. Parents must also
bring the school identity card with them whenever they visit the school.
Any application sent to the school must be addressed to “The Principal” on an A-
4 clear white sheet, giving the name of the student, class and section and
admission number. It should be duly signed by the parent giving the name of the

should be seen and countersigned regularly.
The school issues a bi-monthly newsletter to every student on the portal. Parents
are requested to visit the school website regularly.
To avoid any inconvenience, please ensure that you pay the school fees on time.
Students are required to do the “corrections” as soon as they get back their Pen
and Paper tests and C.W / H.W notebooks.
In order to maintain discipline in school, a system of issuance of Atonement or
Retribution cards will be followed for all the students. For more information refer
to the almanac.
Students are not allowed to carry books (other than text books or library books),
magazines, papers, VCDs, DVDs, cameras and cell phones to schools.
Any change of Address, Telephone Number etc. must be brought to the notice of
Class Teacher immediately.
Proper House Tshirts should be worn for PT/games and house scarves should be
worn on Assembly days on every Thursday and Friday.
