The Digital Universe
The Universe can be infinite and at the same time be limited in a practical way. This practical
limitation is suggested by Quantum Mechanics. Transfer of energy can only take place in discrete
resonant bits. At some distance, the field strength will diminish to such an extent that it can no
longer muster even the smallest bit that can result in an effect. At this distance a sphere; exist with
a radius reaching back to a point in space describing the center of that Universe. Anything existing
beyond that distance simply would be undetectable because the minimum amount of field strength
can not be reached.
Quantum mechanics explains many things in our atomic and sub-atomic universe. Without quantum
mechanics, events at the atomic level could not be explained. Resonance plays a large part in the
understanding of quantum mechanics.
It may be that the general understanding of things around us in an analog fashion is wrong. Even the
motion of large objects through space may happen in very tiny increments. The motion appears smooth
because of the huge number and small size of the increments. Maybe smaller than a Neutrino? An
understanding of this jerky incremental movement is made difficult because of the incredible number of
these incredibly small increments. On the scale of the atom, these incremental or “quantum” steps are not
only reasonable; they are necessary to explain the observed behavior.
It seems reasonable that if each individual atomic particle moves in resonant quantum jumps, then the
whole chunk of matter may be moving along in these small increments as well.
One way to understand this concept is to visualize space as made up of many tiny bits about the size of the
smallest piece of matter. These bits could be occupied or empty. It may make more make sense if these bits
are always empty and have to be pushed aside to allow matter to move relative to other matter. This could
explain inertia and other phenomena that seem related to space and the universe as a whole.
In this concept, no matter moves through space in a continuous way. It jerks along in tiny increments like a
digital clock. In order for a piece (or group of pieces) of matter to move through space it could do so only
one bit of space at a time. First it is in one place and then it appears in the next. The displaced bits of space
in front of the matter would have to be compressed and pushed out against the other bits of space until it
got around the moving piece of matter and finally fill in behind where the matter used to be. The bits of
space have no mass and produce no friction. Once an object got moving the pressure from the bits of space
filling in behind the object would be enough to keep it in motion. These bits of space could have a field
characteristic and have elasticity. This elasticity could be the medium that light travels upon.
Gravity would also be understood as the pressure of these bits of space pushing against all matter. Once a
group of some pieces of matter congregated an outside pressure would be experienced equally from all
directions. A nearby piece of matter would have the affect of shielding the pressure generated by these bits
of space. The amount of shielding would be proportionate to the distance away and the mass of the object.
This is the same math that we use now but reversed. The amount of the gravity pressure available would be
a constant throughout space and simply depend on the amount of displacement of the bits of space.
Every particle in our body would equally feel the pressure from all the bits of space that we are not shielded
from by other matter. The Earth for instance, would block some of the pressure of these bits of space from
that direction. Instead of Earth pulling us, we could be feeling a pressure created by bits of space.
Since space by definition is made up of “nothing” (no-thing), my invention of bits of space is not too far-
fetched. I guess the fellow who invented the concept of space invented nothing! He may hold the only
patent with no claims because he claims nothing. The Arabs invented zero and we know that zero is a
useful idea but it means nothing.
This entire way of thinking may start your eyes to blinking.
Space, time, and motion are expanded by this notion.
