Sacramento City College is one of the top JC wrestling programs in the State and Nation. At SCC, we believe in Student / Athletes. We train young
men to be better wrestlers and we guide young men to succeed in the classroom. It is because of this philosophy that we have 1) More Academic All
Americans than any other California Team by over 50% 2) Send so many wrestlers onto the 4 year programs and they succeed both on the mat
and in the classroom. College Coaches know that our kids are expected to train hard and study hard. They want our kids in their program. We had
15 former wrestlers in the 4 year level this year. Five just competed at the NAIA Nationals in Des Moines, IA and two others in the West Region
Division 1 Qualifier in Cedar Fall, IA. Three of the NAIA qualifiers finished in the top 12 in the Nation. Every one of the 15 received a scholarship
to attend the various schools across the nation. Also this year, our team had a 3.09 TEAM GPA. With over 30 wrestlers counted in the program, 20
of them had a 3.0 or better GPA. Three of them had a 4.0. You can read more about this season in the attachments. We were chosen for the State
Academic Team Award.
