									                       DEFENSIVE DRIVING TRAINING PROCEDURES

 All drivers should periodically participate in safe driver meetings.

 At least once a year, drivers should be evaluated while they are behind the wheel. These
check rides should last at least an hour.

 Evaluators should use a standard written checklist.

 A remedial training program should be established and used when drivers need additional
     training.

 All drivers involved in preventable accidents should be required to attend at least one
remedial driving session before returning to duty.

 A one-on-one remedial session between a driver and a trainer should take place to insure that
the driver is ready to resume driving responsibilities.

 Any remedial training should address evaluated problems.
